  1. I assume you have seen "Allo Allo" on PBS.
  2. Because of my very warped sense of humor this one almost had me fall off my chair!
  3. Thanks George. I fear that Skwirly might have taken over and ate CB! Yes, CB's on a different orbit, but radio waves carry a long way! Can you hear me Major Tom?!
  4. I didn't want to start a new thread, as I feel this fits into this one. One of the guys at work admitted to liking "Wham" , boy did he catch a load the rest of the day. What ONE performer/group do you secretly like, but WON'T let your co-workers or friends know you like. Mine is The Carpenters.
  5. The Dallas radio market pretty much sucks. When I'm in my car I listen to four different talk/news stations. My musical tastes vary quite a bit. I listen to anything from big-band to alternative. I'm not good on classical and can't listen to rap or Tejano. I find I work best on a model if I'm listening to music that mimics the era of the style I want to achieve. Some of my favorites are; (not in any order) Green Day Stevie Ray Vaughan Led Zeppelin Neil Young REM 10000 Maniacs Ricky Nelson The Fleetwoods Dion & The Belmonts Crosby Stills Nash & Young The Corrs Plus many others.
  6. Neat Aaron! I purchased two of these unbuilt about 30 years ago cheap. I built one right off the bat, Testors PLA black, red interior with the kit chrome slots (now long gone !). Still have the other one. Before you get too far along with your build look at how the chassis places the wheels in the wheel openings. They're too far back. You can either drill new mounting holes for the axles (easiest), or mount the chassis further forward on the body. The AMT 65-66 Galaxies and 66 Mercury didn't suffer this same malady. These kits might provide easy swaps also. Can't wait to see more!
  7. It'll make you go blind, then you won't be able to build!
  8. Too Cool! It reminds me of one of the "Stomper" 4x4 toys!
  9. GLAD it arrived so quick! I know you will enjoy it more than I have. Keep us posted on the re-creation! YOU'RE VERY WELCOME! Don.
  10. I know the "oldsters" among us can identify this, but do you "young'uns" know what this is, and can state it's historical significance? I probably paid too much for it, but they don't grow on trees!
  11. COOL Ed! Can't wait to see this one. The 61-62, 63-64's were the best Caddy's. The 61-2's had the 50's flair with out the wretched excess, the 63-4 weren't like the severe 65-6's. They got it back in 67-8, but lost it after that.
  12. Here's my 1/25 styrene full detail list (some may have been said before): New; Allard J2X 49-50 Oldsmobile 88 (fastback and / or coupe). 55-56 Mercury 2dr ht. 73-74 Pontiac Grand Am / 77 Can Am. Ford Falcon GT XA / XB 2 dr. Pantera. 66-77 Bronco. 67-72 F100. 61-71 Dodge D100 pickup. 69-70 Plymouth Fury 2dr. Re do's 68-69 AMX. (Jo-Han). 66 Impala SS ht. (AMT). 65-66 Barracuda (AMT stock). 67 Galaxie XL ht. (AMT). 50 Mercury Woodie (Aurora Mod-Squad). 67-68 Cougar (AMT stock). 66 Imperial ht. (AMT). 64 Chevelle Malibu ht. (AMT). 60-63 Falcon (any ht. AMT). 61-63 Ford F100 p/u (AMT). Not in any order, just ramblings.
  13. Evil, you are one sick puppy! Jimmy Flintstone offers a bunch of figures that can be modified. Check out Squadron Hobbies for painting figures books. Also remember blood tends to turn a more rusty color the drier it gets (did I say that)!
  14. Thanks for the cool tip! I was faced with doing the door panels on a current project. You have just solved my problem. I was wondering how you did the biscuit tuck on your cool C-cab. Who'd of thought of picnic plates. How Cool! THANKS!
  15. "Black Death" just had to be you, Evil! I know opinions are like a certian part of everybody's anatomy, and here's mine. That's a cool looking Caddy, but loose the vinyl top, top mouldings, and use the stock grille. That would make a sinister street sleeper.
  16. Whoa, that 64 has had a hard life! The 64 Chevelles have been a long time favorite of mine. The 64 was last seen as a AMT "Craftsman" snap in the later 60's. I've read that it was turned into the 65' A/FX car then into the "Modified Stocker". So a styrene 64 Malibu SS probably won't be seen again. Please keep us updated!
  17. What a cool gift! I know resin kits are out there, but that is almost 50 year old vintage plastic in your hands. Treat this one to a "period" build. IMHO save what you can, Modelhaus has anything you might need for a resto-mod. This one needs a vintage restoration.
  18. Oops I forgot about Gramps and George ! Shame on me ! Great members too!
