  1. Very nice Bryce! Great detail work!
  2. The epitomie of 50's wreched excess! Beautiful job!
  3. Been following this one closely, Dave. It's a shame that Willys didn't have the money the "Big Three" did. The Victoria body that you've come up with is a natural. They would have sold like hot cakes. The other natural is your wheel selection. Don.
  4. TOO COOL, Bill. Amazing work on the hood and murals!
  5. STACKS! In this case I'd rather be injected than blown! (If you remember the old tee shirts)
  6. Great topic, Kevin. I've found, like you, it helps me to put on the music to the type/era of car I'm working on. To Rob, movies don't work. They may INSPIRE me, but even if I've seen them 1000 times, I end up watching them 1001 times!
  7. Wow! You got a model finished since Christmas! Father Time was a young sprout the last time I finished anything! If you can you might print my notes and toss them in the box. It will save you some headaches down the road. Before you know it you'll be old and forgetfull like me!
  8. It's a good kit, but is kind of fiddly. Take care with the doors as they are a PITA, or glue them shut. The chrome headlight buckets are best if installed into the body. Then install the clear lenses into the bezels, and glue the bezels to the body. It takes some fitting, but looks good when done. Also look at the locating pins on the top of the chassis at the radiator. The holes in the body are offset which will cock the chassis off to one side. Last thing, when you glue the chassis to the body I suggest that you use epoxy on the bottom side of the door jambs to suck the body into the sides of the chassis, then wrap a couple of rubber bands around the assembly to dry. If you do a dry fitting of the interior to the body you will see that the body bows out on the sides. I'm not putting down the kit at all. Considering that it is 45 or so years old some wear and tear can be expected . With CARE it builds up nice. Can't wait to see it! Don.
  9. TOO COOL, John! I'll be eagerly following this build. After all these years I still can't believe the 66-77 Bronco hasn't been kitted. There are so many variations that could be spun off of one basic kit. I have one of the Gay Toys Bronco's and thought from time to time of casting it up. For a $0.50 cent toy it's pretty accurate. PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED!
  10. Oh man, Bernard! That interior is going to look great with that beautiful purple paint.
  11. Lookin good, Dan! the paint came out great! Don.
  12. Jim, try looking on; www.thesamba.com
  13. Dave Z; Hey Dave, and Marshall, can I play too? Sealed 1977 to now . I don't have the beer coolers y'all have. My Courier has a fully equipped tool box to fix your two after you run them into the bar ditch after drinking all them suds! Our dealer rate is a around $108.00 hr. For bud's like you I'll go $42.95 hr! A wheel/tire swap and the SBC has TO GO! You're on Dave and Marshall!
  14. What a haul! You'll love the Kubelwagen! I paid retail for my first one. A month or so later Hobby Lobby had one of their 40% off sales, I bought the three that they had. Is the Fujimi RX-3 a curbside, or full detail? Way back then Entex had a full detail 1/20 RX-3, but they bring $$$ when they do show up!
  15. The Willy's panel was a re-bodied Malco Gasser coupe kit. The Malco gasser was a very famous car in it's time. There should be many pictures on Google.
  16. Great to see you and the Cougar II back! This was one of the neatest cars to come out of Dearborn. You're doing it justice. I love the job you've done on the brake system. Can't wait for the next installment!
  17. Welcome Kevin! There's a bunch of neat stuff and people here. Just pull up a chair and join in.
  18. Thanks Marshall! I do remember the doors the doors and the working I beams on the original being a PITA. The later versions had the re-tooled static front suspension (better in this instance IMHO). Have you been on the "Econoline Message Board"? http://econolines.ipbhost.com/ It's a cool site dedicated to the second-gen 68-74 Econolines. Neat stuff there! PLEASE keep us posted on your "serious" build!!!! What you did on your "quickie" turned out great. Thanks, Don.
  19. Great to see one of those built! Nice job too! :DB) I have been gathering parts for a while, and have enough to build two stockers and two customs between the pile of parts. My last evil-bay score was a "parts box" Ironsides Econoline that I bought just for the stock grille. After doing a parts check I found that 95% of the Ironsides parts were there! Way back in '69 I built (?) one but it was pretty taxing for a 10 yr. old. Were there any major assembly problems, other than the "given" fiddly bits due to the age and parts count? I know It wouldn't be a big seller, but It would be cool if Round 2 would consider any Econoline for a re-release, especially if they would include the stock grille/bumper.
  20. C'mon George, now you need to shell out some $$$ for a 67 Galaxie!
  21. Glad to hear your still about! We all were gettin worried!
