  1. He was extended the courtesy of turning himself in at an agreed upon time. When he failed to appear he was considered to be a fugitive from justice and on the run.
  2. Pretty sure that once you buy the kit it becomes yours to do with as you please. For me paint or polish comes down to how much the build means to me. If it's just 1 of the 1200 on the pile and I select it when the time of year makes painting outdoors impossible then polish is fine by me. If it's a kit that I purchased with a specific replica or memory to capture then I go all out and paint.
  3. Agree 100%. We were just outside the zone to experience the total eclipse so I travelled the 20 miles to get inside. Where I was we had approx. a minute, twenty seconds of darkness. What really struck me was how light it was with 99% of the sun covered. You really have to get inside that zone of totality for the full experience of darkness.
  4. Not glasses but you could make a shoebox viewer. https://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/video/c2898039-diy-solar-eclipse-viewer?playlistId=1.6834748 Several variations on YouTube. I was shut out until this morning. The local tv station was giving away 1000 glasses and I managed to get two.
  5. Witnessed and recorded to my phone a police officer involved shooting this afternoon. Rubber bullets thankfully but it still initiates a Special Investigations Unit review.
  6. Blood pressure on the rise the last few days. A little over two years ago there was a tragic accident where the driveway of the condo complex I live in meets the main road. A car at high speed jumped the curb and struck a small tree, a street light and finally a group of seven and eight year old Girl Guides and their leaders. One little girl was killed and others left with what are described as life altering injuries. The court case started last week and the details coming out indicate it was much more horrific than originally imagined. The driver says her brakes failed and since the car had been serviced earlier that day the dealership must have done something to make the car malfunction. The cars data recorder indicates the accelerator was 99% to the floor and the speed was 120 km/hr. slowing slightly to 100 km/hr. when the stability controls kicked in as she closed in on the street light. Seems like a case of confusing the pedals as she has said that while trying to slow down the car just sped up. When asked by police how the brake pedal felt she responded "like a gas pedal".
  7. All Nascar in a pile, 60's funny cars in a pile, IMSA racers in a pile, JDM cars in a pile, what I consider exotics in a pile, muscle cars in a pile, anything with a tubbed chassis in a pile. Well you get the idea.
  8. Have the readings been estimates (under estimates) lately with the latest bill an actual reading of the meter?
  9. Exactly. I see my optometrist once a year. When she recognized I had developed glaucoma she referred me to a specialist who I see once a year. The appointments are staggered so that I see either the optometrist or the specialist every six months. The specialist treats the glaucoma and a developing cataract. When I told the specialist I was experiencing some double vision I was referred to another specialist who determined I now require prism lenses. Each doctor keeps the others aware of what they are doing.
  10. Canada Post! Somebody needs to arrest that band of thieves. Received a package from the U.S. and the postal employee came to the door not just to deliver the package but to also collect taxes equivalent to if the goods had been purchased in Canada. I get it, that's the way things are heading but Canada Post also charges a $9.95 service fee for them to collect the taxes. When there's Duty owing you get a heads up and an opportunity to pay on line ahead of the delivery avoiding a fee but apparently not for taxes.

  12. This was from the new (young) pharmacist at the drug store. She gave me my Covid booster and helped me pick a magnesium supplement my doctor suggested. She handed it to me and said something like this one is good for the elderly, those over 50.
  13. Got referred to as elderly for the first time today.🤔
  14. Working from home pre-Covid was completely different from work from home necessitated by Covid. Pre-Covid it was not unusual that even though a parent was home working the kids still went to day care and there was a dedicated working space that wasn't the kitchen table.
  15. Last week I received two packages on the same day. Both wouldn't fit in the parcel bin of our mail box cluster so he just left one in the bin and brought the second to the door. 😕
  16. I'm waiting for the Top 5 celeb obit thread to see how long it takes for someone to post 7.
  17. Really? I'm surprised it wasn't a police officer approaching you. There are just places a lone adult male cannot hang around these days without provoking a reaction.
  18. My father was a Corrections Officer at the County jail. During his time he saw "prisoners" become "inmates" which would later become "residents".😀
  19. When you see them lowered and with the body kit attachments it starts to look like the Nissan Skylines of the same vintage.
  20. Saw a '70 something Ford Maverick today driving in the lane next to me. Kind of reminded me of one I saw auctioned at Barrett-Jackson, Las Vegas 2017.
  21. Here we go again with USPS. Please, please, please stop relying on hobos to deliver the mail and hire some real employees. My package, Allentown Pa to London, Ont., a distance of 500 miles is on day 26 and not out of the US yet. I wonder if Amazon is interested in delivering mail?
