  1. Really, really fantastic. I like the way you updated all the mechanicals. Beautiful build. I want a 1:1 in my garage!
  2. I have a lot of decals left over from all the kits I have been bashing. How should I store them for future use?
  3. For what it's worth, I have ridden Amtrak, and it's a great way to travel. From VA to RI, it takes about the same time as driving, costs not much more than gas, no stress. Pack a lunch and a couple of beers, take a nap, read a copy of MCM, and you're there. Unfortunately, there's a lot of places they don't go.
  4. Venezuela is a dictatorship with large reserves of oil. They can make the price whatever they have to, to keep from being treated like Qaddafi.
  5. Hey! I are a redneck! (We do love to drive.)
  6. I had a problem with Testors sealer making black ink run one time. It seemed to do fine on other colors. I tried Rustoleum Painters Touch clear, it worked fine, even on the black.
  7. This may sound strange coming from a Probe owner, but I also didn't like the Cougar.
  8. Actually I like the looks of the GM better than the Mazda, I don't like the giant smile on the front of the Mazda. Hey, you're close enough, I'm sure you can pass for 29. Nothin' nerdy about it, IMHO.
  9. Now I feel sorry for my grade school teacher who made us recite: "Aint" aint a word, "Aint" aint in the dictionary, and "Aint" aint gonna be used in this classroom!
  10. Kinda looks like the Mazda 3 etc., etc. I agree it looks neat and practical but it seems you have to be under 30 y.o. to drive one.
  11. The beauty of it is that we CAN choose! There is such a variety of vehicles available that most everybody can find something they like. Hummer or Smart Car, and everything in between. I hope that continues.
  12. Finally! Some useful information! I've been wondering if that was a melon or a tennis ball!
  13. Monty, I suspect we are about the same age, and I want to make it clear that I love Mustangs, and agree with you that calling a Probe a Mustang would have been a major insult. I'm just saying that for what it is, a Probe is a good car. Everybody's needs and wants in a car are different, and for someone like me who rarely drives on flat, straight roads, "zippy" can be a good thing. Let me add that I am also a performance enthusiast in the sense that I want a car I can drive, not just ride in. It's kind of a snooze in the straights, but a Probe can make your heart beat fast in the twisty parts.
  14. You went to Michaels and they had no flocking clue? There's a shocker!
  15. Wow! Such an animal never occurred to me. I had to google it. They do look really cool, downright mean in fact!
  16. I'm not going to "quote" the pictures, but I gotta say, Wheelman, you are too much!
  17. Maybe mine's a fluke, Harry. All I can say is I've checked it repeatedly, and it's 30-35 mpg all the time. One time was 480 miles on 12.6 gallons of gas. It is the 2.0 liter 4 cyl. with a 5 speed, not the V6 GT. Other than that, "I canna splain it, Lucy".
  18. I saw in the Charger thread where there was some Probe bashing going on. I am on my second one, and I think they're great cars. Granted, it is not a RWD V8. If that's your only definition of a car, then, yeah, a Probe is junk. In the world of FWD 4 bangers, however, with a 5 speed, it's a ball to drive. It's a zippy car that corners nicely, and gets 35 mpg all the time. It was thousands cheaper than the Mazda MX6, so you got the same chassis and engine for less money. And it was made in Michigan! The only down side I will admit to is that it's getting harder and harder to get my aging bod out of it.
  19. I haven't tried any other Duplicolor primer, but I agree with Mike that the "White sandable primer" is very nice. It works fine with both Tamiya and Testors lacquers.
  20. Welcome to the world of "old folks eyes". It happens to all of us. Your short bed looks great. Thanks again.
  21. Not really, Tony. I'm still trying to figure out a good cab to foil cast them from. Thanks for looking and for your comments. Thanks, Jim. Thanks, Dominik, I really like your GTX. Thanks, Tom.
  22. Thanks Daniel. I forgot to give you folks a peek at the six cylinder.
  23. Dang Ben! You must have great eyesight and little bitty hands! I can't hardly see the numbers on those emblems, much less cut them apart. Thanks for the compliment. Did you have to cut the frame twice to make a short bed, or did you leave it extended cab?
  24. That is really cool! The stance is just right and the tires and wheels are perfect. Nice job!
  25. WOW! Truly amazing! How can you make something so tiny look so real!
