  1. Here's a link to a thread about a '65 Polara. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48924&hl=%2B%26%2339%3B65+%2Bpolara&fromsearch=1
  2. Eelco, all I can say is:
  3. You can do a lot with MS Word. The Word Art function will do all kinds of cool text. You can also re-size images from other sources. I have had limited success with MS Paint, but I've made a couple of stripes and such.
  4. Finally, the truth comes out! We all suspected that, and now it's confirmed! That is hilarious, Mark! Wherever that ruler came from, it is perfect.
  5. You have to admit that Yammie DT looks a lot more "street" than your KDX. I think I get some slack because my TT-R is a four stroke. I can understand why the mounties would see a streak of green and hear a screaming two stroke, and think "race bike", but you would think that after a while they would know: "That's Eelco, he's cool."
  6. I"m with Eelco. This is how I roll: Talk about a powdered donut, mine has "Farm Use" tags. It's legal too, but I carry around a section from the "Code of Virginia" in my wallet!
  7. My user name is because I have yet to make a model out of just one kit. My avatar is the vehicle I would most like to make a model of, if I could ever figure out how!
  8. Thanks for the suggestion, Harry. I hope it was clear that I was not really upset, I was just playing with you. I am gonna change my name anyway, tho.
  9. OK that does it! I chose the screen name "basher" because I am a kit basher. I have seen the term used pejoratively in this and other similar threads, so I am going to change my name to "kitbasher" if I can figure out how! Edit: The name "kitbasher" is already taken, I'll have to think of something else.
  10. Hah! He definitely looks Cranky! In fact, it looks like he might have a scrapple sandwich in his pants!
  11. Thanks. I don't use anything fancy, knife, straight edge, square, razor saw, miter box, balsa stripper. The front bumper is one sheet with square tubing glued on the back. Here's what I've been working on for the last hour or so.
  12. You can't copy something you haven't seen before. There's a bunch of big tire big rigs in this thread, all different in some way. I think that is cool, can't wait to see yours. Jamie, I'm hungry, throw me a burger on there, would ya? Seriously, that's looking cool.
  13. Finally some progress on the Tenderizer. The start of the fenders and bumper. Had to put a winch on there in case I have to pull some of you hot rods out of the ditch!
  14. Tim, I'm with you and Michelle. If this car is ever available, I'll be all over it. I took my first driving test in a '70 Swinger with three on the tree and a slant six (my Mom's car). Loved that car!
  15. Steven has a good point. Here is my attempt at weathered, damaged fiberglass.
  16. That came out great, Wayne. Totally believable. I would call that a "technical" on steroids! Tailgaters beware! Nice job!
  17. It is a case of having more dollars than sense. Sometimes not very many dollars are required in that equation.
  18. I'm kinda in the same boat. The closest one to me is in Winchester, which is a long way from you. I'm surprised there isn't at least one in C'ville. Ed Shaver could maybe help for the Richmond area. Sorry, I know that's not much help.
  19. Some folks found the "r" that fell off a Ford in Boston, and decided to put it in a Buick!
  20. Robert, that thing is brilliant! It all goes together just right. And that is one serious cannon!
  21. I think you guys misunderstood about Buick. I've never heard anyone say "Bruick", which does sound like too much tequila, but I have heard folks say "Burick" (boorick). I don't know why, but it almost sounds right to me!
  22. Don't know if you have Ben Franklin stores in your area, but I found a nice selection of embossing powders there.
  23. That must be the upscale version of scrapple! There's plenty of left over parts of a hog to make scrapple with. We use the pork butts for barbecue.
  24. In that case, I withdraw my previous comment! I misunderstood what you were doing. The snow does make a nice background. Both builds look great, very clean and sharp!
  25. Beautiful bike. I would never think it was a model if you hadn't said so.
