  1. I think it looks great, Erik. It could work for one of those "Real or Model" things, except ... How did it get there? There are no tracks in the snow, and it wasn't sitting there when it snowed, because it't perfectly clean! I think if you could add some tire tracks and some footprints, it would be perfect. I don't mean to be critical, none of my pics are half that good, just a suggestion that might make it better. Keep going!
  2. I'm just starting to play around with PS Elements. Obviously, I have a lot to learn. It is fun, tho.
  3. That is way cool, Ken. Love the "continental kit".
  4. Hoo-whee! I bet those sprinters would haul the mail! That is cool!
  5. It could be Sheri if she cooks!
  6. Thanks Art! Was the 4 cam Ford used in a Lotus bodied Indy car in that '65-67 time frame? I remember the kit I had as a Lotus, painted BRG, yellow accents, and the spaghetti exhaust on top. It would be fun to have a couple of those engines to play with.
  7. I really don't know. Was there more than one? Here is the pic from the other thread:
  8. "Um, what do we do now?"
  9. I didn't want to hijack the engines thread, but I saw a pic of the DOHC there. It seems like back in the '60s I had a kit of a Lotus F1 that had that engine in it, and maybe some other kit. Anybody know where to find that engine?
  10. The Model King Blue Max F/C has a driver.
  11. Hey, that is cool! Nice job on the roof, it looks like it was molded that way. I'll be following this one too.
  12. I usually pop in once or twice a day. I don't always have a lot to say, but I sure like what I'm seeing!
  13. This subtle weathering looks to me to be a real art. Doing just enough to look like you didn't do any. I would have no clue how to do this, but all the examples are really impressive.
  14. Wow, Ken! Great concept and execution. (pun intended) This thing has been creeping me out thru the whole build, and the end result is fantastic. Way to go!
  15. Here is my understanding of the jig Mike K. suggested. My first attempts at 90 degrees were not much easier than freehand. But 45 degrees worked really well. The joint shown is unglued. I think with some refinement this thing might work pretty well, although it's still pretty slow. I'm already pondering something involving a Dremel. Thanks for the heads up about the flash, guys, I would have carefully removed that!
  16. Just to be contrary, something I excel at, I watched a fair amount of rugby when it was on, both regular and "sevens". I particularly liked the "sevens", non-stop action. I still don't quite understand it all, but if an old Vajanya redneck can learn to like it, there must be something to it.
  17. That is really hard to stomach! Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
  18. I'm gonna make one of these things. I'll post pics when it's done.
  19. Who says the flat head is dead? Looks like he forgot to duck!
  20. Mike K., I understand exactly what you mean. I was thinking today about drilling a hole for the rod and another hole that intersected it for the file, almost exactly what you're describing. It would only be good for one size rod and one size file, but it's a start. Mike R., I'm glad Dave's technique worked so well for you, I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I want those invisible joints that I've seen on here!
  21. Considering all the stuff I've been accused of, I'm happy to be responsible for something this good for a change!
  22. Thanks, Dave, I will practice. And maybe get one of those Kevlar thumb guards!
  23. That came out great, Bill. You caught all the little details. I really like the rubber on the side mirrors, and the chrome trim around the wheel openings. The weathering looks very good too. Nice job!
  24. My attempts at filing them freehand have been pretty inaccurate and slow. If that's how the folks making those beautiful tube chassis on here are doing it, I need a lot more practice. I'm hoping for a better way.
