  1. You've done some creative work on this one. Nice weathering touches.
  2. Rather than different versions of the same kit, I prefer to buy multiples of the same kit. Whenever I stop by Hobby Lobby and they're available, I pick up the '25 T Double Kit from Round 2 and the '34 Ford Tow/Stake Pickup from Lindberg. Getting quite a little stock now.
  3. . My 'yard' work consisted of shoveling snow from walk and drive this morning. Tomorrow might be a good time to re-attach some parts from various builts I've acquired over this past year.
  4. Exceptionally well done.
  5. Certainly no intent to offend. As I said earlier, great work in whichever context it's viewed.
  6. You've done a great job with this diorama. Many added, realistic elements. I suppose my impression of 'slums' is different from others. To me, this appears to be more of a neglected outbuilding in a country, or rural, setting. Again, a great job.
  7. Guess it depends on what model kit you start with, huh?
  8. Not having a printer isn't a real problem. You can take the photos you like, scale them down to accurate scale size, and place 25 or 30 into a single document or image. This, on a thumb drive, can be printed on 10 or 12 pt., high gloss (or plain) paper at Office Max for about 69 cents a sheet. Also, though it's been a while since I've had occasion to use a library printer, there was no problem providing my own paper for the project. Of course, I'm sure that depends on both the library and the clerk.
  9. I like to own and display kits I find really exceptional, creative, and one of a kinds. More often than not, these are built by someone other than myself, so - in general - I prefer buying builts to building kits. Comes down to a matter of taste or opinion, perhaps puurpose, I suppose. There are a number of builts 'Under Glass' here I'd love to purchase.
  10. Great details and nice photos.
  11. Good point. I've had them charge regular price and use the coupon instead of the 20 or 25% off offered on mark-down. Done it in several stores with only one cashier questioning, but she was new and had no problem checking with the manager. Immediately straightened that out. One point, though - coupon isn't good for everything. There are a few exclusions listed on the coupon, but probably nothing that would affect most model-related purposes.
  12. Great find. I don't have much luck with garage sales. In two years, I've found one kit - and not only was it over-priced, but one I had absolutely no interest in.
