I have had this old chassis and it has all kinds of phrases molded into it. Looks like a Promo to me. Says Thunderbird on it. It does have a full frame,so I know it's a later T-Bird,but I cannot seem to find out what it came from. Anyone have any idea on what it is or who manufactured it? Thanks for any help. Brad
Just a quick build that wasn't going to be as I was given this AMT kit and thought I would never build it. I used the body as a Paint test to try out some variations. After polishing it I thought maybe one day I'll finish it. It sat on the bench for several months then I received the Molotow Chrome pens and decided to use it to test the pens. In 5-minutes I had all the chrome trim done and decided I might as well finish it. No BMF on this one. Still will use BMF for trim on big builds, but for these quickie builds the chrome pen is just fine. This is not a very well detailed kit so I decided to "curbside" build it as a showcase piece. It turned out okay I suppose for a a build I never intended to ever build. Paint is Duplicolor Torreador Red Metallic with Duplicolor Effects pearl clear. Bottom is Universal black. It's hard to see how nice this paint looks from a photo-light-box, but I will say it's gorgous in sunlight.
One more today, becaus i have time this T-Bird was a bad try to remove paint. From the beginning. i wanted to make this old monogram kit with opening doors in a color like biscuit. I think, that i have always bad luck with red plastic. after more than three color layers, always red will come thru the paint. "What doing, little Dominik?" I ask my self. straight in a bath of oven cleaner to remove the paint and wait 24 hours, there was the result: in places departed paint down to the primer. Bad, bad result. so i took my gun and painted like van Gogh a rusty, old look. Some dust and paint for rust and - ready.Put some new wheels and windshields in, new licenceplates and up for it on the track. It is tooo heavy i think, looks like a old ship in the ship graveyard...but it was a experiment and has also a place in my showcase. What do you think about? ...
