PatW Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 The kit is a road going version which I've modified to a race car. I've added decals from my spares box, added alloy exhaust tips, cut down Nascar window net, and front and rear tow eyes. The main sponsor is Apple Petronas Lubricants/Fields, with minor sponsors decals on the doors and body including various model kit manufacturers. The kit has a very basic one piece top engine moulding.....
PatW Posted June 4, 2018 Author Posted June 4, 2018 Well thanks guys, that was quick as I only put it on here this afternoon!
PatW Posted June 4, 2018 Author Posted June 4, 2018 Thanks Brian. Our eldest son was living in Lacombe until March and has moved back to Waskada, Manitoba, it's a work thing!
PatW Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 Thanks Ian. You started me off with your GT2 build, thanks.
Dann Tier Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I think it looks BRILLIANT, Pat!!!!!!!, love how you did the kolors, with the wheels!!!!!
PatW Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 5 hours ago, Dann Tier said: I think it looks BRILLIANT, Pat!!!!!!!, love how you did the kolors, with the wheels!!!!! Yes the wheels Dann. I use oven cleaner to take the chrome off and then paint as you would anything else, undercoat X2 and colour X2. On the body neither colour needed any clear gloss!
PatW Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 Thanks Chris and Anders. After only 60 years modelling I think I'm just about getting it right! No don't speak too soon!
aurfalien Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Hi, Wow very very crazy and cool. The paint scheme is very well executed!
PatW Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 Thanks Brian, I like crazy cool, and bright colours! Yes I took a gamble and rattle can sprayed both colours on at the same time with little or no masking!
Jim N Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Looks very nice Pat. One would never miss that car on a track.
PatW Posted June 7, 2018 Author Posted June 7, 2018 Thanks Jim, yes that's the idea, the sponsors hope that people notice it!
PatW Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Thanks Carl! After reading the Pet Peeves I'm reluctant to put anymore builds on here! Why do certain people that they are perfect and can do no wrong? Surely if we've dropped a clanger, there are ways of folks making constructive comments without being generally nasty about others shortcomings!
