yellowsportwagon Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 This is the latest issue Allison Monte. I built it like the car Bobby drove for Junior Johnson in 72. It has a amt TBird frt frame and truck arms added to the kits chassis. Modified the front to be like a 71 nose. This is how the real car was. Used the cage from the TBird as well with lots of mods. Scratchbuilt engine bars and air cleaner. Kit decals except for the trunk from a set from Mikes. PPP wheels and later AMT tires
magicmustang Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 (edited) Wow, great job. I just finished one that I had to convert back from stock to Nascar. Edited November 11, 2018 by magicmustang
MarkJ Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Nice clean build, Tim. You should be very proud.

Chevys had to get around the rear mount distributor. Do they used a cowl plenum like these.
magicmustang Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Okay, I've seen some like that before. Thanks for the pic.
bbowser Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Beautiful build from the days when they were a lot closer to stock. Great work on the paint and decals!
magicmustang Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 (edited) I found a pic of Benny Parsons restored '73 Chevelle. I presume this is close to what you did. dragmodels44 Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Beautiful! The 70’s were my favorite for NASCAR
Tom Louis Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Nice work! Got ant shots of the under side? Would love to see what you did!

Tom this is a different car but I’m doing the same chassis mods to it still need to do a cell on this one. For some reason this chassis had a stock tank molded in.
lambertjr Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 I truly enjoy seeing these older schemes from NASCAR's heydays! Very nice looking car!
