Classicgas Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 AM's 1/48 P39 Airacobra in Snook's 2nd markings.
shoopdog Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 Very nice indeed Lee! I had built one of these some 45 years ago or so but I don't recall it actually having doors and being mid-engine. You gotta love all the beautiful WW2 planes.
Classicgas Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Thanks. The P39 is my favorite WW2 aircraft.
cobraman Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 If I remember right the Monogram kit has one door molded loose.
Mike999 Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 Really good panel shading and great overall. Another big fan of the P-39 (and P-63) here. If anybody's wondering, the Accurate Miniatures kit is a re-box of the Eduard P-39. If you're thinking of buying, here's a comparison of the AM/Eduard, Hasegawa and Monogram kits. The Monogram P-39 dates back to 1967, but still holds its own with the newer kits. https://www.jonbius.com/p-39-148-scale-kit-comparison/
peteski Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 (edited) Nice model. I always thought the Aircobras were cool because they had car-like doors to enter the cockpit. But then having a driveshaft for the propeller between your legs, much give you a pause. Edited November 19, 2019 by peteski
