Repstock
Has anyone used these? Can they survive masking if you want a multi-color rig? How robust are they when in place and set (dry)?
DPNM
Hey Tom, I have a project in mind where these might be my answer. I watched a video how to and it seems to me they should be applied AFTER painting. I haven't heard of them, much less used them, before your post but that is probably the way I would try to apply them. Then I'd clear coat over top. I'm curious now myself. 89AKurt
I recently used MicoMark rivet decals. I would not wish to learn the hard way about masking, but would think after you apply them over light primer, and then more primer before color, might work. DPNM
Thank you Kurt and Casey. I learned something . I now know what I need, where to find them and the best way to use them. Much obliged.
vintagerpm
I have used them before. Put them on bare plastic before primer. Used Tamiya primer over them. Look great over painting. I have not tried masking over them, but I have never had luck masking over decals that have been clear coated - they still pulled up. Sledsel
I used them on a Freightliner, unforunately, I used the "O" scale 5/8 rivets. Should have used the 7/8" Taping over them even after primer or paint, they will probably lift off.
