Third gen Chevelles and a Cutlass

So I decided to try to enter this to the CBR, so i would suspect that this will look like a X racer gone to the street whith normal racer "make it work" instead of  "make it look nice" metality. Not sure on color or decals or any thing yet..

Not sure what power plant I will be running. LS is to common and i have a hard time seeing a "stock" LS3(what i have in the PB) in there  😂. And i do not fancy an other turbo build since i allways go over board! So I might go to a nascar small block, might have better gas mileage than the CBB in the pic above. We will see one problem being that I am not that found of the over sized monogram engines that come in the kit (big block sized small block).

I had to go forward and the way i figured i could was to glued the cage work in and start sand the chassi to fit height wise. I took out roghly 2-3mm in the torpedo area to go underneath the original body bracing and sanded away some of th frame. The rear end will need to come forward a little bit to look good se pictures below.

I have also started to sand out the boddy thicknes in the wheel areas to make room for the tires. went bar on right rear so i might give it a flare instead ;)
And yes I took black and white pictures since the color combination right now is awful! Blue body and yellow chassi!

Feel free to comment or pinch in on Ideas! I apriciate everything 😃

Kit position on rear end. If you would build a stock car replica you would probably be fine since the original cars ran a 115” chassi and not a 112” as stock. (fronts would come forward more acorind to pictures for stock car)

Super cool build! Glad to see we are doing very different approach to a Gen3 Chevelle haha! Mine would be a mainstream grandma car ;)

Thats cool, I saw that and apriciate all the lengths you have to go through to get to a stock spec car 😃 It was similar as how my 1:1 started out.

When i bought it back in 2003:

How it turned out.. wish i was not that stupid to sell it.. I had a 1998 Camaro at the same time and i guess i sold it because i thought 3 cars was to much for a single guy. But i do regrett selling this one, it had a re built and quite healty 355 that only needed new heads to lock up around 350horse  .

#2 Managed to get the wheelbase locked in and sorted I think. Also started on the front wheels and alignment. I would like to keep it this low but the body style does not favor it. Might need to do some body mods because I really like the wheels to be all out to the edge of the body. Also managed to seat the chassi well I think. Have also started on the cage work.

Looking good Anton !!  I’m liking the low stance, hopefully you can keep it close to that stance. Nice work on the cowl hood.

Cheers, Steve

Thanks mate! I will se how i low i make it 😃 it droped realy low now when the chassi dropped where i wanted it, almost liked the stance better when it was 1mm higher which led to the wheels could come further out.

I got so sick of the yellow chassis so i coated it with some gray the other night.

Sat at the desk a bit today am I tried to get the wheels to align more like I want it. so I will ad a flat stock on top of the firewall so the chassi get flush on the underside with the body. That’s the sweet spot I think so I get the wheel outboard enough.

I also made rear flares, it’s a 2” wide fender flare on each side. Might sand it down a bitt and I might still alter the shape.. this is just the base. But after seeing the pictures I went back to the desk and took them of before they cured. Didn’t like how they looked.
