Update:
So in 2016 I tried the dremmel and it clipped the edge on the top of the roof and the dremmel bounced off the top gouging two deep pits in the paint into the plastic....so I rage quit!!

Fast forward to today. I found an Silentaire Scorpion II-TTat a garage sale. Never used, brand new in box. The owner was asking $50 for it. we started talking about it and I have never heard of the brand and he knows nothing about airbrushing. He got it as a gift. I offered him $20 in toonies (wife keeps change for garage sales). He replied only if I actually use it.....

So here we are today. I dusted of this Mach 1 box, pulled out some 800, 1000, 2000, grit sand paper and went to work. (no Pics sorry) I re-sprayed the best match of the colour I could do and gave it a clear coat. wet sand again and polish by hand. Its not as smooth as I like but I'm not touching the dremmel for a while lol.

Question? What does everyone use to host their photos? Photobucket seems messed up!?

Good to see that you're back on this one. I have one of these kits that I am building too on here using the magazine article by Tom Boyd from SAE Dec 99 and Jan 2000. Great reference.

Here is a link to my build.

Do you happen to have the 302 valve covers that you are not using? I need them for my build.

Looking forward to seeing more of your build.

I use Fotki. I've never had a single problem. I know that several other guys also use Fotki and all seem very happy with it. It's not a "freebie" site, but it only costs $24 a year. That's less than the price of a new kit so it's well worth it.

As for the 302, I built and painted that engine, sorry.

Thanks. It's been a fun one.

And thanks for the reply.

So I'm trying out some photo hosting sites. this is 500px

<div class='pixels-photo'> <p> <img src='https://drscdn.500px.org/photo/268122513/m%3D900/v2?user_id=29424231&webp=true&sig=e052b5033e92a5038cd22f5212d524bc84e0cc6e6bd1d7832f97d8c9154cc1e1' alt='&#x27;70 Mach 1 grabber orange body by Joel Fraser on 500px.com'> </p> <a href='https://500px.com/photo/268122513/70-mach-1-grabber-orange-body-by-joel-fraser' alt='&#x27;70 Mach 1 grabber orange body by Joel Fraser on 500px.com'></a> </div> <script type='text/javascript' src='https://500px.com/embed.js'></script>

so i have to covert the html code to BBcode. test 2:

    v2?user_id=29424231&webp=true&sig=e052b5

So it works but converting is kinda annoying

anywho... like i said before is resanded the pits on the top . repainted it, added cleat coat , sanded, clear coat. then added decals which were a pain then another clear coat. sanded with 2000 wet and then an emery board then polished.

Thanks, it was hard to find reference pics of the lower rights side. I also don't know where the 9th wire goes

I'll agree with Mike. That's a really good effort for the trial run.

That last wire goes to the ignition coil which mounted on the front of the L/H cylinder head. You've got your fuel lines routing out of the coil and leading to the carburetors. Your fuel line should come out of the pump and route up beside the ignition coil and then to the carburetors. You have your fuel line coming out of the pump and going into the ignition coil.

I will say that overall your model looks good so far though bud.

Thanks, Here's the photo I referenced. It's a '67 but I had a hard time finding one with a cross boss intake manifold.

I see flex lines from the carb going to something. I figured it was a fuel filter. your help is appreciated

No trouble at all bud. The braided fuel lines are leading to a fuel distribution block on the drivers side inside fender. The ignition coil wire exits the center of the distributor cap and leads down to the ignition coil which in this case is the black box with a red label with blue lettering on it on the front of the L/H cylinder head.

I can't really make out ALL the details from that picture but here is a photo of a similar one that I took at the dragstrip in San Antonio off of a Belvedere

Noice! Can you explain what's happening starting from your carb... to the thingy... and then?

Sorry, I just drive my mustang... only know the basics.... gas = go faster. learning this is pretty cool.

LOL! I understand Joel. In the picture I provided, the fuel supply line comes up out of the inner fender and into the fuel distribution block. It splits off at the block and the two supply lines go to each carburetor.

The blue "something" and red "thingy" on the inner fenders in the pictures above are not a fuel filter or a fuel distribution block, it's adjustable fuel pressure regulators used when you have electric fuel pumps, you don't need these regulators when you use regular mechanical fuel pumps.

Thanks for the added info there Hakan. I'm assuming that the added smaller line is for a pressure gauge or fuel return line?
