This is my first build in almost a year. Being a new dad really cut into the bench time.

This is a resin kit from Bandit resin. I messed up the paint several times so this is as good as this one is going to get.

I had several fit up issues but I am ok with how it turned out.

Sweet...love those drag Mopies of that era. I saw this 1:1 at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale back in January..

Ah that's very nice Roger!

I'm also building the '68 S&M Barracuda right now, my favorite S&M Car :)

That's a super Super Stock , Roger !

That first photo looks like it's from Orange County International Raceway ( US 101 / I-5 , Irvine : 1967-1983 ) , judging by the EMPI wall banners ( :) ).

Didn't S&M campaign a SS/D Barracuda 340 in 1968 as well ?

I know they had a 340 car,,but don't know what class it ran.

And I dont think the car ever had the typical red - white and blue S+M paint scheme. Best I can remember the car was all white. But I could be wrong.

Cool build.

If I may ask, why the blue engine. ?

I know pics of this car back in the day can be a bit tough to find. But every pic I've seen of this car the engine was orange

Jake King painted the Sox & martin Hemis blue. I have not been able to tell if and when they ever were orange. Up to 1970 I have found they were blue.

I used the magazine photos I have a for reference. The cover of SuperStock June 1968 has a nice photos of the motor.

Thanks for asking.

As far as I know Jake King painted the engines he built for Sox & Martin Ford Engine Blue as a homage to his own time racing Ford's and to easily identify his work.
Jake drove the Atwater Ford Thunderbolt before he joined Sox & Martin.

I have pictures from back in the day when Ronnie Sox were still active of Sox & Martin 68 Barracuda's running in SS/A, SS/B, SS/D, E/SA (340 car), FX, A/MP and Pro
