While doing some digging for parts for another almost finished porject. I came across this one. I started it maybe 2 years ago . Chassis + Interior were almost done, But when I painted the body I wasnt happy with it at all. And I got disgusted with it and boxed it back up .

So, I dug it out , sanded the body down and reshot the black and 3 coats of Upol urethane clear.. This time it came out fantastic . I can almost read the lettering on the bulb above it for lighting in the roofs reflection. I'm not even going to polish it . A light wax will be all it gets.

This is another replica of a friends 1/1 car and once completed I'll give it to him. I already replicated 2 of his other ccars,,,,a 69 Dart 383 a few years back, his 68 Coronet RT convertible was finished up a few weeks ago.

Also, I've attached a picture of the actual car

Comments of all kinds welcome , especially hints of any assembly issues this kit has

That's a good shine you have there . I would like to get one of the Moebius models one day

You need to get one Dave! Quite possibly the best engineered kits in history! Steve

Bill, you'll really notice how well this kit was engineered when you get to the part where you have to mate the body, chassis & firewall together. It's frustrating as hell!! everything fits so tight you need a shoehorn to get them together. When I was building mine, the firewall became detached while I was trying to get the parts together. When the chassis suddenly popped into place, the firewall had no where else to go except exactly where it was supposed to go! It fit tight without any glue! in my opinion, that's one sign of good engineering. I'm sure we've all had the situation where as you just get the chassis fitted into place, the firewall comes loose & ends up becoming a floor board or a radiator brace instead. Not with this one! So as far as assembly issues.....Yeah, it's tight! But, that's the way it should be. Steve

With the warm weather bench time is getting limited.
But I have been tinkering with this one some

I did a mockup to see how it sits and I like it ,,,a lot .

Engine is done and glued in the chassis . Front suspension is done and all glued together. Rear axle is just stiiting in place to ck ride height.

I have to say,,this is probably the best engineered kit I have ever worked on. Everything fits exaclty like its supposed to,,although the instructions could be a little better on some of the details . But overall I'm impressed .

I will be starting the BMF work soon.

The birthday of the 1/1 cars owner is next month. and this will be given to him ,,so It has to be finished before then .

Thanks for cking it out,,,, and All Comments welcome.

This kit is one of the ones in my TO DO pile of 1950's cars. I've built the '56 Chrysler which is a gem of a kit. I'm looking forward to working on this one.

My 55 300 fell together so nice. My 56 300 gave me a bit of a fit issue between the firewall/chassis. I'll post pics tomorrow night.
