  1. I was wondering if one these were going to show up.
  2. I might have to break one out, I have a couple somewhere.
  3. This is what I'm starting with .Not sure how to get all the Corvette chassis under the Smart ,but I'll figure it out. The Smart is a snap kit so I can take it apart and put it back together as much as I need to, it also comes with 3 front nose cones, doors ,and rear fenders. It looks like I'm missing one of the rear tires ,that should be fun to find.
  4. It looks like it was a great year Bob!
  5. All very nice Harry , makes me want to build something like them
  6. Just got a few done this year.
  7. Thanks I will take a look at one.
  8. I found a Vette kit for the engine ,transaxle ,and suspension. I also found some rims in my parts box that fit the stock tires, they are even three lug just like a Smart. I think they are from the Stingray 111 kit. Now I just got to figure out how to fit all insidethe stock Smart body?
  9. Thanks Mike,The glass is all one piece from the windshield, the roof, and the rear side windows. It is cracked in roof and quarter windows.
  10. I've been looking for another Smart because I cracked the glass. Does anyone have one they would part with? If I can't find one I think I could make it a roll back convertible. But I was trying to keep it as plain as possible
  11. I'm in ,looks like I will be entering a Smart. Can't wait to get started. This year I'm going to build a shiny one, I'm going to let my seven years old daughter pick out the colors. And it will have a small block and a transaxle.
  12. You could try starting with a flat white base with a cote of dull cote over that ,then paint your panels and stripes with a brush then bury them in transparent color and clear. I would try it out on a junk body first.
  13. Very clean build.
  14. I love the red rims on the custom ,but the stocker is really nice.
  15. Very cool, this came out nice.
  16. Thanks Steve. .
  17. Well at least you don't have to worry about scrathing the paint.
  18. Thanks Tim.
  19. Thanks Antonio.
  20. Thanks Al,I can do that this weekend, I do have a Rat Rod Cuda that I am working on.
  21. Thanks Ron.I wish could take credit for all the imagination and creativity, but most of that would have to go to Chris Walker and In the Weeds customs that built the 57 wagon that inspired this.It did make it into Rat Rod magazine and they are supposed to have a model car section in the magazine in the future issues.
  22. Hey !,I was there. I only entered my truck , because I didn't feel that the RatMad was a car that would make a coast to coast trip. And I didn't want to split any votes I might get between the two cars. I thought about entering it because I really didn't finish the truck the way I wanted. I can always go back and rework it. The RatMad did make it into Rat Rod magazine so I was real happy about that. It was also great winning the Cannonball last year, but everyone building and finishing their cars is the best part of the Cannonball. I can't wait to get started on next year's car, if I ever figure out what to build.
  23. I can do that, just give me a little time to put something together.
  24. Thanks geetee66,the rear tires are just the no name ones out of the AMT kits.
