This one may not be perfect, but I think I'll call it finished. I used the grille from a Jada diecast. It really adds a lot. And what did I do with the die cast? I used this kits parts, of course!

Thanks! You guys have been a great help!

I'm not so much into having to build a certain correct style. I just like this model, like the way the paint turned out, and I want to build it as nice as I can Thanks for your input!

And there lies the problem. The distributor in the kit is rather simple looking. I could drill holes in the sides, but there's not a lot of wiggle room there.

Thanks! My Google search showed a couple of actual engines that had the crab style distributor. But the model kit really looks like it only has the dust cover. Not sure it's worth it to try and wire this one.

I scratch built a rear taillight assembly. I had thought about using the Jada rear clip, but it had 3 taillights, and I only needed 2. I will be using the front clip. Hood assembly is secure.

I'm loving the quality of parts in the Monogram 48 Ford Woody kit. But I'm real hesitant to start drilling the "crab style" distributor. Any tips on how to wire this up? Thanks!

Thanks guys. I'm enjoying this build. Got the glass installed and the hood mated to the front valance. I'm calling it a night!

I rarely post here, but thought I would share what I'm trying to do with Monogram's "Bad Actor". I've always liked this kit, but thought it was a bit too "far out". So I lowered it, filled in the rear wheel openings, wired the engine, scratch built rear shocks, and redid the interior with a bench seat from a Jada diecast. Comments welcome!

Primer. Then sand. Then mist coats before a wet coat. At least that works for me! I use Easy off to strip paint. I put the model in a plastic box with a lid, spray with EZ off, close it and let it sit overnight. Make sure you do this in a well ventilated room.

Can someone share some details about using alClad? It really looks like chrome, but can it only be used through an airbrush? Can it be brushed? Is it available in a rattle can? Thanks John

Great looking lift! Push bar looks good to me, but you're right, the roll bar is a bit undersized -
'55 Chevy Pro Street
jsc replied to jsc's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Since my choices were either fix it or shelf it, I decided to go all in. I hacked off the front end and added the front end of the Super Bee. Of course, now I need a new transmission and engine mounts, new spindles....- 2 replies
