    Ahhhh....no worries. I appreciate your help. ?

I'm betting on you, Steve ?
  3. Thanks, Chris
  4. That color was criticized by an unnamed person in my house but I agree with you. This color was chosen according to what I had in stock. I think it was Krylon "color master" "gloss bright idea".....seriously, that's what they call it. Black would have really made the woodwork pop but I can never make my black paint jobs look good. ? That's something I should work on. Thanks, Greg. ?
  5. Thanks, Rusty, it's a great kit but to make it work I had to stretch my abilities. What about those stupid tail lights? An afterthought to be sure.
  6. Ya know, I have a bunch of those in my parts boxes somewhere. If I was a diorama guy I could set up my own surf shop. ?‍♂️. I've got the AMT '41 to build and it lends itself to a surf woody quite well. Weathered and rusty with bald tires and 3 or 4 long boards sticking out the back which, of course, is full of empty Coors cans ?. Where can I get some of those?
  7. What floored me was that it's so low and still a highboy! Severely zeed I would guess. It's the baddest coupe I've ever seen! I had to make myself a small copy. ? thanks for looking!
  8. That's Testor's Extreme Lacquer rattle can. I think they called it something like "gold metalflake" but it looks just like Inca gold. I really like that paint but the cans really suck. Very difficult to push the valve down with my arthritic fingers. Had to use two hands. The blue deuce is just OOB but I probably opened up the front cross member a bit. Ray, Rusty, Larry, and Bill, thanks for the comments!
  9. Thank you all for the kind words ?
  10. Very cool, R, the finish is amazing! Great stance with the fenders hugging the tires.
  11. Thanks, Larry, I appreciate it.
  12. Hmmmm....I don't see the steering shaft, good call?. Not sure about the gear box though. Hard to see but I'll check the model. it's not just missing stuff, there's things I just forgot to do. It's embarrassing ?. And YES! A flathead!
  13. OK, the California tags would indicate nice warm weather precluding the need for a heater which was probably an option in '49. ? . Next!......I'm joking....good eye ?! There's more....
  14. Thanks, Dave. I found another one while searching my photos. Un-chopped.
  15. When I saw the 1:1, I had to build one in 1:25. It's pretty unusual. I didn't nail it, but it was fun.
  16. 'Here's a pair of coupes that I have left un-chopped for whatever reason I might have had. It may have been just laziness, I dunno ?
  17. My Daughter gave me this kit one Christmas a decade or so ago. I cannot understand why Revell equipped this classic woodie with only a Cadillac engine. But so be it. After taking some of these today, I discovered a few things I neglected to do (as is my habit, hurrying to get the next kit started) See if you can spot them. You may find more than I did ! ? help me out!
  18. This Monogram kit from yesteryear was built to be a Christmas gift for a very big Mopar fan several years ago and only one of four such builds for her. These pix are all I have of this project and were taken before it was totally finished.. Thanks for looking ? ! I have just received the Revell kit of "Dom's GTX" so I can have one for ME! ..... Man, I love that color!
  19. This is Master work. Just amazing, Steve ? !
  20. You definitely have a knack for this sort of thing... super nice build ? It's amazing what can be done with spare parts and Evergreen. ?

It looks pretty good to me, close to scale on your build. Did you get it from Scale Hobbies or the Plastruct site ? They showed 1:48 in a single diamond pattern and 1:16 too. I may try the 1:16, should be close enough. Aluminum diamond plate is an ideal material for this type of vehicles and I want it!! What did you use for the metal finish?

I just did and for 1:24 scale they have "double diamond " plate but not the usual type (single diamond?). Oh well....thanks for the link, though.

I am in awe. These Gassers are excellent! An incredible amount of work shows on every one. I especially like the "aluminum" diamond plate. Where can I get that? I have tried to find it without success.
  24. I would love to get one of these. I had a 1:1 '62 convertible back in the day. Reclining buckets were handy on Saturday nights. ?
