OK so, ive got a no for David, and Lenny wants me to flip it over. π€. Perhaps we should wait for the rest of the jury to weigh in. Gold tooth? Only one? ......π.....Yeah! π....no.

Fantastic! When do we sing? ππ₯³ -

Yes indeed! I like what you've got so far, Mike. I bought the "Craftsman" kit at Ollie's a while back and I wish I had done what you did; converting to a two door. It's a natural, really. Nice work!

Busy day, today. Had to bring her first to the Dentist and after that, the Optometrist. Everything turned out okay, though. She got a new set of dentures (she's in her mid-seventies, after all π¬) and a new script for contacts lenses. These dentures were bothering her, she complained, so it was time for a better fit She had trouble seeing the television so we got her some French lenses. Okay, it's a bad analogy but filing those tiny round things down with my sorry-a$$ hands was quite a task so bear with me. π₯΄ Below is a quick guide to Desoto grilles just in case you were wondering. Top to bottom they are '52, '53, '54, and '55. Thanks for your patience π

Sorry, Paul, that's a no for me. I still need to find a tail light idea or it's gonna be factory.
-
See above, Len.

Well, Topher, I'm about to stand with them again.

Learning from the mistakes of others is a pretty good philosophy, David. The chassis is a done deal and the body is experiencing some re-thinks at the moment. The tail light issue needs consideration and I'm on the fence about skirts. Then there's the side trim and the bumper question. It's has taken on a life of its own. π§

Thanks Greg. I have not thought of using it for BMF. It's sorta grippy and I think it could tear the foil but it's worth trying; it could save a lot of swabs π.

Thanks, Bob. Yeah, I'm going with Mr. Hobby stuff for primer and prep. It seems to be a reliable system. Paint will be a dark color as yet to be determined. It will be shiny, though.

Relieved, too, Brian. π₯΅ These things have a way of going back to the box.

Plan B seems to be working, at least it is today. I'm happy enough with the results. I'm kinda beat and nobody reads this stuff anyway so just take a quick look at the pictures and you can probably figure out what's been done. that's it. Thanks for stopping by. π€§

Engine looks real, Seth. Masterful detail work. π

You picked a great kit to get back in shape with, Allen, and it looks like you've made a solid start. Thanks for sharing!

Well...."Funk 49" does look a bit like a squashed bug...I need to rename this thread π€ Yeah, me too, Bob. π₯ Stop it Lenny! This is serious! π€£ All this talk about pancakes is making me hungry π

Occasionally we run into Williamsburg and pass by this little gem. It's a neat attention getter for a restaurant on Second street. Today I told Wifey to get a picture of it for me. I thought it might inspire someone on this forum to do something cool with that Chevy Van kit that's been malingering on their shelf for years. If anyone wants more detailed photos, I can get some on my next trip out there. It's a lot of work but do-able. I dunno, maybe if I can find a suitable kit....

That's a gorgeous color, Len. Like cream soda π

Going in a new direction. I think I can make a conventional hinge work with this configuration. This is where the fun is ! π I cut the black hood wrong π©. Luckily there was another in the box. From the '50 'vert. I'm using sprue goo for a change. I post in real time, guys. If I screw it up, it shows up here. If there's a wrong way to do something, by golly, I will find it! It's more fun this way, right? π€ That tool you see sitting there is something that Wifey provided from her extensive inventory. The blue business end is silicone rubber and works really well to apply filler, glue, mustard, whatever. Just wipe it off with a rag. It's one of a set with different sizes and shapes. It's quite useful. Thanks for reading this if you did. If you didn't, thanks for looking at the pictures! π
