  1. You make a good point, Don. Do they still build fad-Ts? Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb ðŸĪŠ....oh look....a squirrel! Raised on corn, Elliot? I'm kinda partial to ethanol myself.
  2. The government uses squirrels for mind control. It's a CIA operation. There's no defense against it. 😒
  3. It seems I have accumulated a few too many Bil. I want to get away from them but they keep coming at me. What should I do?
  4. Yup. That's standard around here, Jeff. I just bought a half gallon of 99.9 IPA and a gallon of commercial grade grill and oven cleaner. 😕
  5. Solid color or metallic? That car looks good in any color, Michael. I'd leave it white and put 3 coats of clear on it. There is one car of that era I would love to model, the '62 Olds Starfire. I wonder if JoHan ever...off to ebay....
  6. I can't even hear what I'm saying, Eric. But yeah, it is sorta bad-ass 😌. I'm not a big fan of tubs but they have a certain charm. I love motorcycle fenders ðŸĪ“...but not on the back. ðŸĪŪ
  7. That's a great idea! I've got an SKS that's just sitting in the cabinet, waiting for something to do. 🙂
  8. I did that to see if anyone would notice. Congratulations, Supernurd! 😀
  9. . We must always push the envelope 😈..... part of the fun, Greg. 😉
  10. Yeah, life is just one do-over after another. The back seat is just for looks anyway. You'd be sliding onto the floor at every red light. Seat belts might help. ðŸĪ”.... it's perfectly dangerous. That's the hook. No seat belts and no roll bar. Attitude up the kazoo. I guess I'm okay with that. Maybe you're right, Steve. 😉
  11. Somehow, Greg, female doggin' doesn't have the same impact as bitchin'. As far as the wheel goes, I'm on it, I'm on it.....later.....the small holes are gonna be a problem, though. I have a bigger wheel with much bigger holes...ðŸĪ”........can't wait to be done with this one. 🙁
  12. I decided on the leftover windshield from the Duval kit. I don't like the oversize mounts but we can pretend it's a custom part and it's supposed to be that way. The tub kit part was not substantial enough, in my mind, to last in the upright position very long. 😕 tail lights are there now as well as the plate frame from the Monogram deuce kit. My eyes tell me it's fairly well centered. You may get a different result with yours. The front left door line must have had a very slight rise along the line...From now on, I am going to sand panel lines a bit below flush so this doesn't happen. I may try to buff it up but with the clear gone, it likely won't help much. The interior tub is now epoxyed in. We're down to stuff like the coil and radiator support rods. Thanks for checking in. WDYT a out the foiled backlight frame? It seems way out of scale but it's a custom item so.....I need to detail this roof more.... In retrospect, dumping the front like I did was probably not a good idea. The driver and passengers will have a difficult time staying seated. 😟 If I were to do this build again, I would do the same in front but get the back down and just move the fenders up and channel it full frame depth for a nice ankle burner look. The rake is kinda cool but it's not practical for street use. It is what it is ðŸĨī.
  13. Thanks, Greg. I wouldn't do this if I didn't need to. That was a very complete picture you painted. 👍ðŸŧ
  14. Seats turned out okay. I used black embossing powder for the indoor/outdoor carpeting, poured over Tamiya flat black. It's not cheap but it behaves much better than flock and it may, in fact, be a bit cheaper. There's not a whole lot of colors that are useful to us but you just treat it like flock and mix colors. Anyway, the interior tub is done so there's nothing stopping me from wrapping it up. Except the game. yeah, I know....you want me to drill out the steering wheel, right? Mmmmmm nah. I have a better idea.....if I could just remember....🙃.....ðŸĪĢ...................ðŸĪ” Thank you for your time! 🙃
  15. That sound like a good idea.....ðŸĪ”. Thanks, Les.
  16. Well I bought this stuff because the reviews seemed good. I have this bumper that I was planning to use Alclad II on. It was sprayed with Tamiya gloss black and not processed any further. Just a coat of gloss black. It's been sitting for months. I received the product today from Big A and I couldn't wait to try it. I read the tiny printed instructions on the box. I used the brush provided to apply it. Following the instructions, I brushed it on wet....in long smooth strokes. It flows out beautifully. Handling this bumper was awkward and I had to go over it a few times to cover spots I missed. No problem. It's hard to photograph due to the glare but it looks like polished stainless steel, very much like Alclad. I love it. I think with some finicky prep to get the black up to a mirror finish, it would look like real chrome plating. I did this hap-hazardly and it's good enough for me. Big time saver. Thank you all for talking me into it. Best ten bucks I've spent in quite a while. Be aware this is not being sold as a chrome finish but rather a silver finish. It does that very well and the ease of use is a huge plus.
  17. I'm thinking that I may try to get the paint out of the can. I can't relieve the pressure in the can because the " exit tube" is plugged. If I put it in the freezer for a while it will reduce the pressure somewhat, maybe enough for a not-too-messy puncture. Has anyone ever done this? I'd love to hear about it ðŸĪ“.
  18. Some of it looks good but there's not enough paint in some areas and the OP is really bad. Gotta wet sand and get another can if I can find it.
  19. If I'm recalling correctly, Alan, it was just making a small adjustment at the firewall to frame and just eyeball engineering. I didn't plan it with anything like that in mind. Edit: I checked back and there was clearance issues with the interior tub floor. It was modified to accommodate the transmission and that allowed the the body to sit down on the frame also. The final adjustment was at the firewall. 2nd edit: ....I think. ðŸĪ”
  20. The seats are the ones that come in the Duval kit. You could cut yourself on the top of the backs. I wish I knew why I'm only getting to this now. I did paint them. Well it's time to fix them. I sanded the paint off the backs. I used 1/16" rod, cold bent and attached to the backs with solvent. I added the same inside to hold the curve. I covered all that with .020 sheet scrap and after that I filled the edges with Bondo. There we go...ðŸĪ“ safety first!
  21. I wanted to use the Boyd's but the dash ....never mind. I shook it really well and I warmed it up. It was spraying just fine and....then......blood clot. An almost-full can of Rustoleum 2X Key Lime. Of course it's been on the shelf for years. I guess using my sawz-all to shake it was not enough. So now this coat will need some wet-sanding when it finally dries. Naturally, the hood didn't get lucky. The Deviant Del Rey goes up on the rack of respite. 😔 ðŸĪŪ......yeah, it's too much. Hopefully, I can find another can of this paint. Shouldn't be difficult. Please don't throw up on your keyboard or drop your new iPhone. Maybe the foil will help.
  22. Too late 🙂.
  23. Not much new here. I've been working on getting the rear smoothed out around the lights and the light-to-body fit. It's close and I'm tempted to call it.... but I'm not completely happy with it yet. The RH today is 32% so I'm tempted to just go ahead and paint it. At the moment my chosen paint is Boyd's lime pearl. Thanks for checking in.
  24. Well, it's always interesting to stop in here, Jon. I like the way you work. Taking that slice out of the car got me thinking. Taming the hood was a big improvement too, and not an easy job.
  25. Gotta get out more, Jim! 😉
