  1. For a moonshine runner, wouldn't the radiator be in the trunk too?๐Ÿฅด
  2. Good choice, Jeff. Basic black. I did one in satin black just to be different. I didn't have a hood so I just went without. A '40 is good any way you do it. ๐Ÿฅด
  3. I wonder if the '62 chassis would work under there, Brian. ๐Ÿค” it wouldn't be correct but so what? ๐Ÿฅด
  4. Everybody loves a '40, Jeff. Can't have enough. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  5. Yaaaaay! Another '40! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ That body looks real nice, Jeff. The Y-block is a great choice for a drag car.
  6. How about "KINKY 6" ?
  7. ๐Ÿ‘? ๐Ÿ‘Ž? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  8. No, Greg, Wifey has virtually no sense of humor. I'm glad you got the joke.
  9. You can see the two colors together, Bil. How does it strike you?
  10. I saw it as a quasi-"Ceed" frame rather than a penetration. A pipe sleeve going through boxed frame rails, welded on both sides, might actually make it stronger. Then you run the exhaust through that "sleeve". In reality, that could work just fine. I think about that stuff.
  11. Atta boy, Lenny! Better than I imagined it. ๐Ÿ‘
  12. Well I finished the hinge job. Another hungry hippo to feed I closed up those ugly hinge slots a bit. Not enough. And then I did this in a flash of inspiration ๐Ÿ‘‡ I had to put a plate somewhere so I was gonna maybe put that tubular nerf thing on the back but it just wouldn't look right so I kept the plate part and ๐Ÿ’ฉ-canned the tubes ....I like it. That's what's important. ๐Ÿ˜œ (gotta hide the plate light somewhere too ๐Ÿ˜‰ ).
  13. Yeah, there aren't any square riggers on the high seas emblazoned on baby moons in the aftermarket yet. Someday. ๐Ÿคฃ
  14. Just to stay on the front page, I figgered I'd just show youse that I haven't been completely idle. The paint disaster has taken me to a low point but there's still some movement forward. The early morning hours had me making a hinge for the couple's bonnet. The Revell firewall provides very generous openings for that purpose ๐Ÿฅด. Closing them up a bit was indicated. I didn't finish but I promise to do so sometime today. The wheels you see below are for this coupe which I plan to paint with Boyd's Grape Pearl, a personal favorite. The wheels are coated in Tamiya Coral Blue. I like these colors together. You may become ill just thinking about it. I don't know. I have these two finished cars sitting on my tool chest and they illustrate the combination well enough.๐Ÿ‘‡ WDYT?
  15. I have a clean, virgin AMT '62 Bel Air body and I'm looking for a solid, unblemished AMT '37 Chevy coupe body in trade. If we can help each other, let me know. I would be busting a complete kit, Cody, but I am willing to do that for this specific trade.
  16. That's pretty amazing detail work, Greg. You earned a double Bourbon after that. ๐Ÿฅด
  17. No......as much as I try....๐Ÿ˜ž I knew it was a mistake but I did it anyway. This is on me. The tudor in in the drink getting the botched paint job removed, I hope. That one may get an orange paint job. The wheels are black and the chassis is done, pretty much. The waste not, want not coupe is now in primer and will most likely be painted purple pearl. The couple's wheels have been painted and the caps are glued on. I didn't want to reveal the color of those wheels yet because I want to get gut reactions when the time comes. If that turns out badly, I will move to plan B. Now it seems photos cannot be posted at this time so.... anyway....it's confusing, my bad.
  18. No...but orange is a good possibility for the tudor if I can get the paint off it before September. I got some primer on the coupe yesterday and I'm liking the idea of Boyd's Purple Pearl which I've been saving for a special project. I think this one qualifies. After seeing Greg's red wheels against the green I thought I would take a shot at that sort of "contrast" with my wheels and got those painted and assembled. Photo later.
  19. If you like wrinkle paint, it would be pretty decent. ๐Ÿค“
  20. Ohhhhhhh. My eyes are worse than I thought. ๐Ÿคฃ
  21. Greg, this thing is a showstopper. Very unique, and very clean. I like the red wires as much as the '37s. They both work, imho.
  22. OK, I get it. I'm trying to find a good decaf but it's not easy. Especially in K-cups.
  23. Well I see you haven't been paying attention, Mister Benson ๐Ÿคจ. There is only one tudor and yes it is, or was (hopefully) a beautiful shade of beige. I probably should rename this thread but that may cause more confusion. The coupe is, for now, safe from the paint demons but it is in queue for primer. Iceman will be providing engine parts in a few days. The AMT chassis has been painted without incident and will be....Bil? BIL!....... Edit: I didn't love the "beige" either ๐Ÿฅด
  24. Gee, Len, it wasn't my idea. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
  25. I put one of these in my shopping cart last night after reading this thread. It looks like a really good way to get a square cut on small tube, rod , and strip styrene and probably aluminum so it's worth trying. I use PE blades so....anyway, for 20 bucks and no shipping, if you're a Prime member....I'll know in a day or two. Good info is where you find it ๐Ÿฅด
