  1. thanks mike, got dozens of other foxes to complete as well, have you checked out my other fox threads yet?
  2. yes it is as its basically a snap kit for the most part, really easy to convert this to a open hatch build.....
  3. I've decided to leave as is on the blue strip car, not going to put on the gt ground effects nor the sideveiw mirrors
  4. couldn't build my "cobra " version as box art box stock because the decals are those darnded dry transfer and they were toasted which made me so mad i was looking forward to the green "cobra snake" graphics
  5. i didn't think this would be as simple as it was, its as though the transformation was meant to be!! all that is left to do now is freshen up he old white interior! add a center counsel and armrest, figure out to go with v-8, or turbo 2.3..... and some small amounts of filler in the very small gaps that Zap a Gap did not fill in....... zap a gap is my new best friend with the zip kicker side kick makes custom work and assembly so much faster!
  6. what shade of red paint/ what brand paint did you use on your convertable? as i am struggling to find the right "red" color for my foxbody mustangs...... especially that "canyon " Red for the svo's
  7. thanks Jesse I hope so too! the kit i think was issued in 82' ford had not yet put the mustang convertable back out yet untill 83' so that was a "concept" at the time i want to say i've got some pics in mustang books with the front end thats on this model kit i'll have to try and find the photos and try to snap a pic of the picture...... rather interesting actually!
  8. i'm not sure cause the chrome parts were nowheres to be seen after 87' but however there was still the clear taillamp lenses so if you were a careful modeler with the no. 11 exacto blade you could turn your "gt" model into a plain jane looking "lx" by carefully removing the molded in cheesgrader taillamps, and detailing the clear lx lamps and glue those in place instead i always wondered why those extra clear taillamp housings were in those 87 and newer mustang kits..... had to figure it out when i got some of the svo kits
  9. Like mentioned I would run pretty much run a search on flea bay 1-2 times a week like clockwork I got waaayy outbid on many of them, but i got fortunate with a few had almost 7 at one time 6 and a parts car now i'm down to 5
  10. yeah not THAT rare, just not as easy to come across as other foxes, like the capri mercury's those are harder to come across (not as often)
  11. holy sweet!!
  12. thats the same on the mpc model kits as well, its very few 79-82' ? mustangs that had the netted "halo" headerests i want to say for sure 83' and later they did not do that any longer on my mpc builds i've been removing my "mesh" center headrests to make proper halo's for my 85/ 86 gt projects
  13. I can't see the pictures says link has been moved or pic deleted but if the kit is the one i'm thinking by amt yes its very nice i have one still sealed i can't wait to get to!! the steering is poseable thats the way it is box stock if memory serves me right
  14. my 2nd child is due in october.... hoping for Boy
  15. i was going to ask does the model kit depict the front wheel drive? a friend of mine nearly bought a olds toronado with the big 455 V8 the half shafts on that car were HUGE!! didn't a couple cadillacs back in the day go front drive?
  16. this seems to be a never seen kit, i'm almost afraid to cut and slice to get the headlight buckets to fit in place......
  17. checking ebay weekly searching for "capri rs" model kit, or just mercury capri model kits, got lucky and never paid more than 20$ for any of them, on was already built up i'm going to rebuild..... these kits are too simple, yet with just a few parts from the mpc model mustang kits you can make one radical cat! MEOW! you are right the capri kitss are pretty hard to get just keep trying on e-bay I did have a spare, but I traded it off for 2 kits here on mcm it was veiwed as rare enough for a 2-for 1 trade lol the mustang kits are the same "capri" body with the flares all you need to do is search for the capri front and rear clips, there was a black custom mustang on the boxart that was a mishmosh of all these kits it had the capri tail lights/ rear, it had the mclaren looking front end, custom hood, that one is pretty hard to get as well would make a good canidate to try and start maming a capri from if it gets to be too long before starting that "white lightning version i may see what you have to trade lol
  18. one will be a "black cat" the other a "crimson " cat another is a V-8 "RS" capri, another will be a turbo 2.3 rs box stock for most part and i will have another body that will be painted white for a "white lightning" capri i will find the magazine pic i have and snap a photo of that too! chassis has had molded in muffler removed and molded in exhaust tailpipe will find chassi pan that has been filled in with styrene and get a pic of that one too ( this is for v-8 purpose) the root beer brown "RS" v8 has had the roof modified to a t top (used a t bar from mpc mustang kits) thats also where the "RS" looking front facia was from as well mpc mustang kits
  19. has anyone ever gotten a 1987-89 gt mustang kit by amt or mpc and wondered what the heck those little plastic clear pcs were on the clear glass tree.... this will all make sense when you look at the pictures that follow.... older svo mustangs 84-85 had halogen lamps single tucked in lamps sometime in 85- and 86 they went to a flush plastic compound headlamp similar to the new for 87 mustang GT the kit manufactureres simply made a little fill in piece to make the newer version (updated) svo look correct it was pretty cool i thought and rather genious i though..... can look slightly tacky but it does seem somewhat accurate to the real 1:1 design now PICTURES
  20. I'm going to freshen up this old concept Gal with a newer look, the 85/ 86 svo look i will have to decide what looks better compund (flush with clear lenses) or halogen (chrome bucket) I want to say this kit when it came out was the "concept" convertable due to the fact that i want to say ford re introduced the convertable for the mustang in 83' so in 82' they had concepts i want to say thats what revells 1/25 scale cabrio mustang represents...... wish me luck i have another of these kits in progress as well i was swapping out running gear/ bottom halves of the doors and front and rear bumpers and facias to make a 1983 annivarsary convertable figured its easier to swap and modify body parts then to cut roofs off hatchbacks and try to make it look like a proper convertable....
  21. I'm down to try it out no matter how i paint out browns and golds i can never get woodgrain to look good or convincing enough! let us know how it works if your ordered you some!
  22. thanks i only found out about the econoline van from this here board..... i only knew about the courier, and the super stones!!
