  1. my friends older brother had had 2 of those late 80's early 90's olds toronados one of them was the decked out top of the line luxary "trofeo" edition..... the other was a all blacked out car rather sinister especially when his mechenic brother bolted up one of those superchargers from the gran prix's to the 3.8 3800 v6 that car would flyyyyyyyy!!
  2. i visit about once a week sometimes i try to hit up both in town locations i love the clearence section i buy alot of rattle cans most half off original cost!!
  3. great saturday! flea market early part of the day, got 7 cd's for next to nothing, 1 lp (vinyl record) alabama "roll on" 5 dvd's then later half of the day was with wife at hobby lobby for some weird reason there it was (only one of them) the ford f 350 firestone super stones truck was 27.99 yikes, but really when they want 21-25$ online plus 10 bucks shipping its a better deal buyin it in store, then again i wend duh we revised our phones so we can check internet on our phone, so to hobby lobby . com i went and got my 40% off full price item Yippie!! also got 5 cans of model master paint from the clearence section all in all good day i was wondering if the super stones truck had slipped through the cracks?? fellow mcm members have not yet seen the kit at thier hobby lobbys yet....... sometimes a kit will slip through that not supposed to and a place will just sell it?? there was only one it makes me wonder?? the hobby town usa in mobile alabama said they would not have those in for at least anothe r month or so late march..... guess they are trickling on down..... i've replied to about 3 of those round 2 cards in the newer kits and have yet to have seen an e-mail from them, maybe i need to call??
  4. very nice indeed never seen green interior before..... looks great i like those cars just with they had mad a more sweeping slanted rear deck/ window vs thraight up n down.....
  5. i was glad to send ya the john player special (molded in black one) i was having a bear of a time finding the decals for it i'm sure i can get a complete one out there most of them are fair priced.... i still need folgers i want to say.....maybe the 7-11 as well
  6. I need to go searching for my mustang hood!! i used some pody filler/ putty and the fumes on that stuff i had to put the work outside i also painted a mustang hood as well left them out yesterday night got home at dark and saw my mustang body in the doorjam of he patio doors but no HOOD!! Zoikks!! the wind was whipping last night needless to say i need to bundle up and go outside in daylight searching for my hood lol otherwise i'm going to have a hoodless foxbody!!
  7. Honestly is always the best policy!! I had the older suburu issued 3 n 1 kit and some of the newer shelby kits come with multiple rim options...... I e mailed revell to ask simply if i could buy additional tires for these model kits so i did not have bare rims in my parts box and i could use the extra rims/with tires for other models...... next thing i know i have a box from revell in the mail with 3 sets of rubber..... all the did was ask me the kit numbers and part numbers thats all they asked they did not tell me they would send the parts..... i was in disbeleif ! very awsome!!
  8. I have not been home in a long time sir, but last time i was home there was a store in the burnsville center mall that did slot cars and had a neat raceway setup in the store and i want to say they let folks brink their own slotcars and run em on the track layout, worth chicking into or asking around if its still there or not i find most places in malls now days don't seem to stick around much nowadays
  9. what is the large sized paper clip "pipe" sticking out the side of your model bent at 90 degrees towards the ground?? obviously scratchbuilt.....
  10. i prefer the acrylic paints mostly due to the fact that its simply water washout for the brushes after use, i seem to be able to extend the use and life of my brushes.... i do use enamel paints usually on darker plastics that have not been primerd as the enamel seems to cover darker plastics better, acrylics i tend to notice require priming or many coats to cover dark molded plastics
  11. if its for any / all chevelles i'd have to say the lindberg 65? 66 chevelle (blue car box art) was probly the best chevelle wise, as far as 70' year model i'm not sure, the body of the revell/ monogram i always thought was quite nice, yet i'm not a big fan of 1/24 scale i prefer the 1/25
  12. very cool looks way more reliable and cleaner/neater than the one those hot rod magazine boys did up!
  13. I get these gems from work they are isolators/ mounting tabs for the computer to set and align the glass on new cars on the assembly line perfectly everytime, I rob the round foam pcs from them when i get them and use them for various muscle car foam gasket material for muscle car air cleaners the orange "wheelwells" are made from walgreens discarded pill bottles cut to size then halved I have also used colored paper clips for various things large black paper clips to make brush/ pushbars on 4x4 trucks 9smaller black paperclips can be used to make rockguards for offroad vehicles head and tail lamp lenses) also the cotton swaps with the plastic tubing vs traditional cardboard ones..... i have used the plastic tubing from those swabs to make spindles for the fron of my model cars to mount the rims on..... the kit supplied metal axels usually fit perfectly withing those tubes
  14. its the famous "once a snapkit" kit?? i had one of these and removed the in chassis detail of the motor and dropped in my own more detailed small block chevy with wires and it turned out to be a halfways decent kit!
  15. Jim i have a johan issue of the kit i have 2 the older s/c issued version and the more modern yellow street machine version (same kits) different box art, what do you have to trade?? pm me sir.....
  16. very cool stuff makes my build skill feel very mediocre if that lol luvs are very hard to get now even the junker ones!
  17. all very true statements above, I would like you mentioned hold onto them all, just run you a soapy sinkfull of water get an old toothbrush and gently scrub and clean all the old dust off them, glue back on any loose pcs sit back and enjoy them as is maybe slight fixxing or modification, (they look like they were fairly well done)
  18. looks like my motorcraft build is so old now the white has turned a "eggshell" looking white instead of the pretty white yours is!! very jelous
  19. very cool!! very clean build i've got to get going on all of mine too!! i had a junklot one that i made my own way and made it "svo" 2.3 turbo powered!! not trying to hyjak the thread just wanted to share my love for these foxbody imsa racers
  20. think i provided that motor?? along with a smaller ferrari motor?? did we ever finish that trade??
  21. Escort = small overall Good fun to drive car (manual transmissions of course)
  22. yeah i agree must have sold very poorly stateside i very rarely see capri 2 seaters that were the vert's i don't understand why mercury division just did not keep the foxbody cousin to mustang.... i often wonder what the mercury front end would have looked like with the new for 87' compound headlight front end the mustang had....... what would have become......
  23. there are many more vehicles like this....... mitsubishi has been sharing cominalities might even be in cahoots with chrysler back in the 80's- 90's you had eagle/ talon / plymouth "laser" / mitsubishi eclipse..... more modern you have dodge dakota p/u and mitsubishi raider p/up's same thing mitsubishi 3000 gt = dodge stealth aka poor mans viper lol there was an awsome dodge that was related to the mistsubishi starion ( the jacki chan vehicle in cannonball run II) they make a model kit of the starion, not the dodge version tho not that i know of one cool car! pontiac G5 = Chevrolet Cobalt pontiac sunbird = chevy cavalier pontiac firebird = chevy camaro (1960's) same body panels different front and rear valences at one point the mazda b series and the ford ranger shared the same look/ parts chevy/ gmc avalance trucks = izuzu pickups ( gm got the inline 5 cylander motor from izuzu??) i'm sure the list goes on and on this is pretty fun recollection all the (same) vehicles different manufacturers
  24. yes i Agree 100% still think the escort "gt" looking front end is cool, but old EXP front end = way cooler
  25. very cool, is the piperack made from scrap styrene tree parts??
