i'd like to get one of t hose next fro my daily driver/ family car!! its pretty quick? i know they came in standard shifts fairly good mpg?? -
I was not aware of the number of offereings available I only really knew about the rambler s/c and some of the flinstone kits never knew about the fire roadster very cool the amx is very awsome too I have had a rambler in the past want to say i traded it off to one of the many "Al's" on this forum specifically one from florida I do remeber those rims being "junk" as one poster mentioned they take alot of work to even get them slightly "polished" up looking the low profile tires usually crack if they were not already cracked still very cool kits! the 390 ci motor in the rambler is one of the betters that i've seen want to say the whole kit is a re in carnated johan kit.....

very cool now thats some good use for mustang mach III body! they are a dime a dozen, have great supercharged motors tho and very nice rims and tires(let me know if you still have yours erik)

i think i saw the cuda one too and on the auction site its listed as very rare and hard to find (mite be some truth in that) theres another forum member in search of an apparent amc amx?? that would be very sweet!

i was just merely shareing that the cars have that euro look and seem to share some design cues it looks like just stating they are sort of similar looking cars

Heres the kit in all its glory!! Great over all kit can be built in a boreing stock form, or a more agressive looking stance with body kit front pieces the front look sort of resembles something of the dodge omni of the early 80's...... also a rear spoiler kit has 2 wheel choices can be build with N/A power engine or "Banks" turbo power nice crisp decal sheet there is quite a bit of flash that needs to be cleaned up, a few sink marks that will require filler to smooth out the body. from looking at factory ford brochures and the body in the model kit it looks pretty spot on going to enjoy this kit greatly as i do with any older mpc kit -
shapes of the rear windows are slightly different, wheelbase looks like it may be slightly longer too but overall same look
-
here are some capri pics want to say amt has a couple kit variations i would have taken a pic of the kit i have except its at storage

Does anyone know just exactly how many hobby shop only kits were made as far as vehicles go?? I know for sure of the rambler s/c there are 2-3 jimmy flinstone resin kits...... i saw a 70' olds 442 these are very cool any unique of themselves as you can build a "pro touring" style mode with the extra machined aluminum wheels and low profile tires and photo etched metal parts/ emblems i'm curious if anyone knows exactly how many cars and or trucks were kitted this way? i'm almost certain the oldsmobile kit i saw was a repop of the johan olds?? as the rambler s/c is the exact same thing as the johan rambler model kits

didn't win the blue one thats ok tho i did get a factory seale d "wild breed " to add to my "sealed" stash of fox body mpc early foxbody kits..... tempo's were almost indestructable and would breeze thru the minnesotah winters as sure footed and with ease as could be! friend had one that was his grandma's a 5 speed manual car that car was sooo much fun!! -
letters are very great and personal! i have not seen him on either Bart

i was reffering to the European capri's pre 1979 (fox platform) the older bodystyle seems like it slightly resembles this ford style......

When kit scavenging gets bad
MsDano85gt replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I rely on my brain it seems to be working fairly well still its strange i'll have photographic memory over stupid things like where my wife left something at. Its like i take a snapshot and when she can't find that item, and asks have i seen this all i do is holler back where she can find it! it has been this way since i was a kid i always knew which matchbox/ hot wheels cars i had or what paint styles or wheels they had so i wouldn't get duplicates (unless i wanted more than 1) -
MPG estimates vs. reality
MsDano85gt replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I surely will mn wild, the kit(s) are supposedly sealed i better inhale deepley when the box is first opened! its funny how the carmakers right now are bragging about 25-30 mpg acting like its the best thing ever...... back in the 80's and early 90's you could have a ford escort (or exp) 1.6 litre motors later 1.9 i think?? with a stick shift and easy on the gas you could easily get 40 mpg or surpass it, and this was the 80's/ 90's so how are the newer cars better?? again can anyone fill me in?? oh wait airbags and lots of doohickey ma bobs, and little auxillery jacks for those fancy devices (none of which i own) i'll take a imaculately maintained older car over newer cars anyday of the week -

problem with old decals
MsDano85gt replied to jedimark14's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
not sure, if i'm using older decals especially ones that appear to have very small cracks i sparay a couple light coats of clearcoting on them and let em dry...... i always try to cut the decal as close to the actual decals as possible i accomplish this by using a very small surgical for smaller decals and more intricate ones like flames most other standard stripes and regular straight edge designs i can usually get with the regular scissors. by cutting closer to the decal it eliminates that extra "excess glue" around the edges of the decals makes them overall look nicer too and fit better alot of times as well hope this helps some...... -

MsDano85gt replied to MsDano85gt's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
shucks tom should have held onto them a little longer! i feel like I got the yellow one for a fair price at 16.50$ plus shipping but i feel any older factory sealed kit for 20 bucks or less is fair since most new kits from even hobby looby average about 18-25$ depending on which ones ya go for -
