added a couple box shots for reference found the right silver tone finally! decals went on well just need to paint center hoodscoop black now and cement it on, need to assemble my motor and chassis yet, starting on intereior got some custom decals on the e-bay with a "zebra" print pattern to place in the center of the "recaro" seats will look pretty sweet when done will wire engine and add clutch cable(even tho I think most of the 79-81 mustangs all had the smaller 4.2 v8 and aod's)

these are my attempts at replicating fo mo co's great rides theres a crimson cat and the "black magic" thank you to all fellow members that helped me out with the "cat " decals sources from older merc cougar kits the cat head is scalewise a little oversized, but I think its sweet and i'm working with what I have and I've never seen it done before! kits will be mostly box stock except for additions of engine wires and a ever so important clutch cable for 5 speed fox bodys to get the "rs" front clip look I borrowed pcs from mpc mustang kits its the same 1/25 scale as the revel kits works well and the rear 3 pc spoiler are borrowed mustang pcs I am kitbashing in a mpc chassis on one of them there will also in the future be a "white lightning" version as well the wheels are just display purpose most likely I will be using factory ford trx rims painted gold as per specs for these versions of these cars all input welcome

mom and pop vs. big hobby shop
MsDano85gt replied to Q tip's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree 100% my lhs which I love because of the fact that instead of ripping off magazine covers and throwing them in the dumpster the drastically reduce the prices shrink wrap them up and throw em in a clearance bin! I constantly get mcm mags and scale auto for a couple bucks only problem is when i'm in the model kit aisle I don't get the time of day..... they are too busy taking all kinds of money from people wanting to spend the big bucks on r.c. vehicles of varios types and things, if I ask questions about model kits I don't get answsers, or look like i'm a bother..... this makes me mad but the l.h.s does have things that hobby lobby do not offer anda large selection of kits (especially model king) they have a display cabinet with buildups I once asked if anyone can display their work and I was told yes so I brought some of my many buildups and was looked at like I was stupid when I asked to display my workings...... geesh double edged sword I say -

MsDano85gt replied to wisdonm's topic in Model Cars
I,Ve got a few 2.3 turbo motors left in the arsenal! -
Going to modify the notchback mustang body and change the nosecone(front clip) to a 79 pacecar look which is very similar to 82 gt look). I'm needing to know what glue to use (I always use testors orange) and what type of primer to use on the "resin" before paint goes down. Also what do I strip a resin body with had a bad experience stripping a dodge demon body I had in resin.... What types of scribing tool should I use to freshen up panel lines? I typically use the new no.11 blade bacwards any help much appreciated!

Morgan Automotive Detail
MsDano85gt replied to Kris Morgan's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Has anyone else here on mcm made purchase from Mad? I just received the 79 fox mustang notchback kit its rather good quality I have my eye on their t-56. 6 speeds manual tranny and their msd 6al ignition boxes next..... I just need to figure out how to carefully update the 79 front end with revells turbo cobra. 79 pace front or 82 gt look maybe a cowel hood as they did put 5.8 emblems on the decal sheet! -
