1966 Ford F 100 Flareside
'70 Grande replied to leafsprings2's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Excellent build! Colors and your execution are spot-on! I just getting started on my version of this kit and the molded-in side trim bothers me... am curious how much time and effort it took you to remove and clean it all up? -

Spectacular build of gorgeous subject matter... and to think hiding under all that beauty is a magnificent beast! -

Like some others, this project has my attention. If it can be done, would like to see some pics of the extended frame underneath this project. -
BUMP I'm still looking for these (2) 1/25 pieces; anyone have them at the bottom of their parts box that they could drop into a typical envelope and mail to me in Illinois? I'd be happy to mail you back some parts in-trade... thanks!

Lots of work to this build, but the end-result was worth all the effort! Thanks for the details and additional pics!

Great looking build! Give us some details! Did you create this conversion yourself? Is it a resin or 3D-print? More info wanted!

I looking to trade for (2) 1/25 parts that can be from many different kits. I'm getting to the painting stage of a '65 Chevelle wagon project, and realized I need a 4- or 5-blade small-block Chevy V8 Fan piece; can be fresh from a kit or from a built engine if in good, reusable condition. I don't need a complete engine, just the fan. Would also like a set of pedals for under the dashboard; these could be from many different kits (the pedals found inside any older 1/25 AMT 1990s Nascar kits would work well), or from any other kit; need them with a clutch pedal. I have parts to trade; I'm located in Illinois. Thanks!

1965 Chevrolet Urban 2-door station wagon
'70 Grande replied to '70 Grande's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Going with a more utilitarian look as this concept uses the smaller front doors found on the 4-door station wagon, so the B-pillars will be straight verticals... same with a 3rd-pillar to be added that will split that long window into 2 sections. Topher: Thanks for the 6-cylinder engine offer but in my research I've found that '65 Chevelles could be ordered with either a base model small block 283 V8 or an upgrade(?) to the sb 327 V8. Seems weird that two small blocks that I thought to be pretty similar were available. I'm going to drop the 283 into this build, but thanks for your offer! -
This is an idea I've had for some time and finally gathered enough parts to get it started. It is an early-1964 design prototype from the Chevrolet Engineering Dept, designed to be a smaller format 2-door station wagon to be used in busy downtown urban settings like NYC where it can be double-parked while making deliveries of light products, (bakery, flower shop, small print-runs, or other packages). It has a shortened 105"-wheelbase, (vs. the factory stock '65 Chevelle wagon's 115"-wheelbase), and will have a standard/baseline 327 V8. (wish I had a straight 235 6-cylinder in my parts box, but none there)! The engineering and marketing team's intent is for these '65 Chevrolet "Urban" 2-door station wagons to be sold as no-frills delivery vehicles, but not a sedan delivery style as the rear windows provide natural lighting for the interior cargo space in the frequently shadow-filled downtown settings. The prototype was photographed and presented by the marketing team at Chevrolet Dealership meetings, but the sales managers didn't feel it was likely to be much of a seller for the 1965 product line, and the "Urban" 2-door wagon was cancelled. The following are a few pics of my mock-up for this '65 Chevrolet Urban 2-door station wagon. Because it's still a prototype, it wears the steel wheels with no hubcaps as they haven't been designed yet. Lots of work done so far and a lot more yet to do. I'd welcome your thoughts or comments on my project.

I am looking to trade for the (4) unplated steel wheels from any of the AMT/Round2 issues of the '58 Chevrolet Impala kit. Pic of my kit's box shown here; the steel wheels are missing so can't provide a pic of them. I have a fairly extensive parts box to trade from. I am in Illinois. Thanks!

Plumbing Truck
'70 Grande replied to Pat Minarick's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
When first seeing this build, the first word that came to my mind is "character"... this build has lots of character and that is a word that rarely gets used to describe any build, but when that word is used you know that the build is something very special. Well done! -

Nice restoration build! I assume it has the kit's little 4-banger under the hood... sure would like to see some pics of that, too! -

Both of these builds look excellent! Can you post a pic of the underside of your GMC pickup so we can see how that better detailed chassis looks underneath it? -
These 1/25 AMT '72 GMC Jimmy roof pieces are always pretty warped, so I took the piece from my kit and set it into blocks/weights and placed it into a sunny window to soak in the sunshine all summer long hoping the blocks and weights would eliminate the warp. Well, the warp is slightly better, but the roof pieces got sunburned and I can't seem to remove that discoloration. Anyone have the same GMC Jimmy roof and roof tailgate pieces, and maybe the (3) roof glass pieces they'd be willing to trade for something from my parts box?

You can make your own custom license plates fairly easily by starting here: www.acme.com/licensemaker This website was launched shortly after the Internet started existing and the website hasn't been updated much since then. What does that mean... it means the website is quite simple and easy to use and navigate. I make my own custom license plates while on the website, save them to a folder on my computer, and have calculated that printing the saved file at 47% onto a 5x7 sheet of satin finish photo paper makes a perfect 1/25 license plate. By making a bunch of custom plates all at one time, I can group them onto that 5x7 sheet and print several plates in one run thru my color printer.

Excellent looking build of an iconic Corvette! If that taillight is painted with a "soft" paint like Testors Silver, I might suggest you take a toothpick with a point dipped in warm water and with a little work you could probably chip-away that painted dot in the center. I'd start with warm water before going to something harsher like a paint thinner... just my thoughts. Still a well done build!

I am looking for (2) of the steel wheels found inside the 1/25 AMT '32 Ford Coupe kit. These same wheels may have been inside some other older AMT kits as well. I am in Illinois... thanks!

Thankfully Old Trucker shipped me exactly what I was looking for... the parts are soaking in my chrome stripping solution right now. Thanks all, and thanks to Johnny specifically!

Anybody have any pair of 1/25 Weber carbs similar to the ones shown in my picture? They could be from any 1/25 kit and do not have to be chrome.

Looking for (1) Weber carbs chrome piece like or similar to the ones shown here from the 1/25 Revell BRE Datsun 510 Race Car kit; have lots to trade... I am in Illinois; thanks!

A terrific looking build! I'm curious about how that 1/2-cab looks inside the bed... especially the back-wall of the cab. I have the first issue of this kit with the full roof and have wondered how different the 1/2-cab looks. If you could post a pic showing inside the bed more to satisfy my curiosity that would be great! Also curious if you know where you got those wheels and tires from?
