  1. Awesome detailing on that engine, Wayne!
  2. Cool idea! I think it turned out perfect for this project.
  3. I've had or driven 2 different '71 F100s in my time and they both had 6 cylinder 240ci - but a friend of mine had one with a 351 (Windsor I think...) not sure if that was stock or not as he was prone to swap engines.
  4. Well done!! Tell me about the wood bed - what's going on there and how did you do it?
  5. You're right about that. They are both interesting parts packs, that's for sure.
  6. Either one would be a big thrill for me!

    Very nice!! Daf
  8. I've scanned the instructions booklet - check out the level of detail in these engines! They even have cranks and cams for Pete's sake! page 1 has the list of chrome grill included - in addition to the 4 complete engines...
  9. Just now seeing these other replies - thanks! I've ordered distributors from Kris before so I'm sure the quality will be excellent. Incoming order Kris!
  10. Impressive! I'll be watching for updates!
  11. Thanks so much for all the replies and info! What an interesting subject.
  12. Hey guys, Curious about the part packs by Revell and AMT... I ran across one of each on ebay and snagged them. The Revell is the Chevy 283ci - and it's all chrome! The AMT is unplated and contains 4 full engines - Chrysler 392 Hemi, Pontiac 421, Corvair 145, Chevy 283, and some chrome grilles and stuff. These are so cool! So what is the history here? When were these offered? 70s, 80s, 90s, current? Was/is it to encourage or help with kit bashing? Both packs appear to be much more detailed than a kit engine. It's weird that the Revell mill is chromed - was it intended to be displayed alone? Fill me in on these cool parts packs if you can - I couldn't really find much on google or a search here. Thanks! Daf
  13. That does look good! Nice work! I love those trucks, I've been trying to catch one on ebay for a good price - no luck yet. But it sounds like they are lacking in detail - like with the engine? That would be disappointing. Again, tho - nice work! Daf
  14. Wow - that is well done! I agree that it looks "real"!
  15. Impressive paint job! Very cool!
  16. Good tip! Love the fact I have a tackle box full of the patches, didn't occur to me they might be useful for modeling.
  17. That is a great help! Thanks Ryan!
  18. HI all! Any sources for some nice aftermarket 1/25 ignition coils - wired would be cool, too. The coil in the kit I'm currently working on (AMT 57 Cameo Pickup) is pretty bad. Looks really bad next to one of those sweet M.A.D. pre-wired distributors! Thoughts or suggestions appreciated. Thanks Daf
  19. Love the paint job! Nice!
  20. You're not limited to the color the powder comes in. After the adhesive dries hit it softly with a heat gun and it will harden up (embossed) and you can paint it the interior color. In fact I've been getting the opaque color since it will be painted any way.
  21. Wow, Scott! You and Jim really got parts for days. The sky's the limit with that kind of stash.
  22. Sounds like you have an impressive collection of parts!
  23. Oh man, that is so rich! Nice work!
  24. That looks great! I've been eyeing some El Camino kits - I especially like the '59s.
