  1. Pat - yeah that seems like the best option. I'd like to keep the boxes, too, tho. Would become confusing as to what was spare parts and unbuilt. Jim - you must have a great memory or much knowledge to know what is what among all the loose parts in the drawers! Do you use any labeling?
  2. Looking good! Cool thread - thanks!
  3. Wow - super nice build! Looks sharp - you done good! Was this the California Wheels 2n1? That engine is really disappointing...
  4. Jeff - I don't see these on your site yet ... when will they be available? Gotta have one!
  5. Alright guys - how do you store the spare parts that accumulate - from kits with extra bits or donors, etc...? I'm thinking either keep them in the original box, bag up in labeled baggies or toss into a giant container for future rummaging. I like the original box thing but could run out of space in time ... so maybe the baggies with a label as to what kit... or computerize into a database... What do you guys do? Would love hear the different methods to this madness. Thanks! Daf

Wow - yes that is a very nice set of '55s!
  10. What an interesting color and an impressive build! Nice!!!
  11. Wow, wow, wow! Love it, nicely done! Saw the interior over in the WIP thread and it's inspiring!
  12. Thanks so much, Dr. Cranky and Jim, for the recommendations and AK#s - I'll be ordering soon! Dr. Cranky - I would love to get the "intense weathering" recommendations, too, if you don't mind. Thanks, Joe, for the tip on the site and newsletter, I subscribed for the tips. Let the weathering begin! Daf
  13. Good job! Very convincing weathering effort, I like it.
  14. Thanks Jim! I was hoping to hear from Dr. Cranky on this thread about that.
  15. Wow, super nice!! Love the color.
  16. Hi Joe - thanks for the reply. I have been using some different DIY washes, including the ink/alcohol. But I have been hearing some good things about the AK weathering products and wanted to try them. Yeah - the armor guys are out of control awesome with the weathering!! Thanks!
  17. Looks like a great kit, love that red! Thanks for the walkthrough!
  18. Cool idea! Love the imagination! Reminds me of the old urban myth/Darwin Award story about the guy, the car and the JATO! LOL! http://www.darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin1995-04.html
  19. I'm excited about the new Moebius truck kit! And the 1st styrene inline 300ci in a lonnnnnggg time! I hope it's released soon! Thanks for the heads up on this!
  20. Hi all, I'd like to try the AK weathering products - but as I look through their product line I'm getting a bit overwhelmed (they appear to be geared toward armor) by all the different washes. So you guys that use them ... which washes or sets would you recommend as a good "starter" set for automotive applications - such are engine/wheel grime, etc...? Thanks! Daf
  21. Thanks for that info! Hmmm - found a WIP thread on ScaleAuto that illustrates some serious alignment issues with this particular kit. May have to pass on the Lincoln Mint kit.
  22. Hi all, I have absolutely no experience with the Testors Lincoln Mint series of models - I'm particularly interested in the HARLEY DAVIDSON FLSTC HERITAGE SOFTAIL CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE MODEL KIT - are they quality kits? Are they anywhere near the Italeri/ESCI 1/9 motorcycle standard as far as detail and quality? Thanks!
