  1. That's a sharp lookin' Nova! Nice!
  2. I'm pretty picky about the semi-gloss blacks and so far I've been happiest with the Rustoleum Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover 2x - but I decant it. Out of the can it's to much too soon. Has like a fire hose nozzle and obliterates instantly. Out of the airbrush it's very good and has a nice semi-gloss. I mix it with lacquer thinner - that may help. YMMV Daf
  3. They certainly are cool - $50 a pop, too. Better stick with the kits.
  4. Ha ha -no excuse! I've got a room full of Strats and Ibanez and manage to lead a normal life ... well a life. Sweet looking Paul!!
  5. That's so cool!! Nice work!
  6. Beautiful paint jobs on both! Very nice work!
  7. Looking good, Hector! The hard work will pay off I'm sure!
  8. Very nice!!
  9. Wow - nice, nice, nice! Beautifully done, Fred! I agree with Andy - La Villa Strangiato is one of my favorite Rush songs!
  10. Must have missed this one - it's beautiful, that red is gorgeous!
  11. Nice!! Really came out well! Yes - please tell us about the weather stripping - it's a very nice touch!
  12. Thanks so much for the tutorial, I've been wanting to try it and this explains it so well I'm going for it! Daf PS - looks fantastic - excellent work! Rust never sleeps ya know!
  13. A little late to the party but ... wow, this is very nice! Love it! One of my college roommates had a Gremlin - good memories.
  14. Thanks, Brandon - that's interesting and at the same time makes no sense... I hate to spend another $11 on sleeves for these wheels, that's just crazy. Thanks for that info, I do appreciate it!
  15. Beautiful build - super nice! Love the play on words with the title -
  16. No hobby shops in the little town I grew up in - the one drug store had plenty of kits, glue and the little bottles of Testors and Pactra paints tho and the guy that ran it would order new kits regularly. I think he, or his kids, built, too. The hardware store had the little cans of Testors spray (even the Candy colors!), as well as the big regular spray paint cans. Sometimes we would go into the big city (LA) and I'd get kits and supplies at different 5 & Dimes but I never saw a hobby shop until well into my adult life. Even then the first hobby shop, it was a Hobby Town I think ..., was mostly railroad and RC planes. I quit modeling for years and years and when I came back we had the internet! Yeah!
  17. Thanks, Joshua - more good info and I appreciate it. I suppose I was naive to think that aftermarket wheels would fit kit tires just like that. Wishful thinking. I've decide to use the kit rims, which are very nice, until I sort all this Pegasus stuff out.
  18. Good info, Roger, thank you very much!
  19. Thanks for that, Bill! Looks like I need to find some sleeves - I see that Pegasus sells what they call a 23" stepup sleeve with an OD of 1" - the tires I have have a 13/16" opening. That won't work. Will have to keep looking. I do appreciate your reply and advise! Thanks again! Daf
  20. Hi all, First time to try to use some aftermarket wheels. I'm building the Revell 2010 Mustang and thought it would be cool to try some Pegasus wheels (I hear about them all the time in the builds on forums) - I found some I like and ordered them. I got the #1240 1/24 "Phat Boyz" Rims W/Tires and the #1204 1/24 "Tri-Blades" Rims W/Tire. I don't care much for the tires but wanted to use the wheels with the Revell tires. Well ... and this is where my ignorance with aftermarket wheels comes to light ... the wheels don't fit the tires. They push right through - even tho the wheels are labeled 1/24 they are actually smaller than the 1/25th tire. I tried them with some 1/24th tires from another kit and they are still too small. Both the kit and the Pegasus wheels are suppose to be 19" - I didn't think the scale difference would be that big - and then reversed... Weird. Anyway - I know you guys use the Pegasus wheels - do you have to use the Pegasus tires or what is a common way to adapt (and look good!) the wheels to the Revell tires. Anyone run into this before? Thanks! Daf
  21. You can get old versions of Firefox here -> http://www.oldapps.com/firefox.php It "may" let you install it separately rather than over the current install. Not sure how that works and would hate for you to hose your system trying it. Probably best to upgrade your system.
