  1. Thanks Rob, ya when i was looking at the instructions it looks a bit complicated, but were would be the fun if it wasn't complicated lol.
  2. Doc. this is a great model i love it. rusty is the way to my heart lol.
  3. Thanks Stephen, I've had this model kit laying around for a couple of months and have been putting it off cause i wasn't sure what i wanted to do with it. i finally got and idea of what i wanna go for after looking at the box and the instructions for a month lol . ill keep you updated.
  4. New build im starting on 31 ford model A. im gonna make it box stock i love the way this one looks and it comes with a custom suspension that lowers the front im excited for this one.
  5. That is looking nice i love the civic especially this year keep up the great work
  6. Here is the finished model of my 56 ford. i originally wanted it to be a shiny model but messed the paint up so i thought i would just turn it into a rat rod. hope you like...
  7. That's is so true. it wouldn't be any fun if every model you make you didn't run into any problems in other words learning from your mistakes. like with this model i was going for a nice shiny flawless finish in the beginning but i put a clear on that was to strong and it melted the paint of. so i learned not to use that clear but i also learned that this degreaser that i have at work strips paint off your model and does not ruin the plastic. and your right about the YouTube videos that is the big reason why i stated weather models in the first place cause i started watching Dr.Cranky video and i was amazed by what he was doing. I am very much like you i learn better visually than i do reading it in a book or off the internet. i have a quick question for you if you don't mind answering it. is it better to have a dual action airbrush rather than a single action when it comes to weathering models or just models in general?
  8. When i was little and i built models i just thought you could only build it box stock and i painted the models all with a brush. i always got so impatient that they didn't turn out the way i wanted them to so i stopped building. i just recently started back up and Im finding out there is more to the hobby than i thought there was and so many things you can do to make your model unique. lately Im trying to learn all the different kinds of product you can use on your models to make them stand out but am having a tough time learning what all them do, but Im sure with a little time ill learn more. anyway thanks for all your help again.
  9. Thanks Derick i watched all of those they helped out a a lot. im pretty new at this so ill take any advice i can get. thanks again
  10. Thanks Johann and the wood in the back of the truck is bass wood that i picked up from the hobby shop. and also thanks for the info. on weathering the wood of the bed i agree that it does look a little to neat to be on this truck i just didn't no how to weather it but now i do thanks again much appreciated.
  11. Some pictures of the motor and the custom exhaust i did. the motor was tough to get in cause since i lowerd it the bottom of the motor was hitting the top of the front axel but i finally got it to work. the pipes in the back are from a 49 merc. that i did. i couldn't put the stock exhaust on because since i lowered it it wouldn't fit in right.
  12. Here is an update on the circus rat. this kit has been a rough ride so far a lot of bumps in the road but so far im liking the way its turning out hope you like.

  18. Starting a new build. i got this kit for Christmas and started it about a week ago. just got done preping all the parts for primer and sprayed today went on smooth. this one is gonna be pretty much box stock nothing to major going on just a nice shiny pickup. i want to make it look like the picture of the truck below i have this calendar hanging in my work shop and i just love this color on this truck so that's what i hope it looks like when its done.
  19. Ya when i opened the kit up i saw the body and saw that there were no doors on it and so fare i haven't built a kit where you can open the doors. i originally wanted to take this and turn it into a truck but im having issues on trying to figure it out. but thanks everyone for the advice on this kit looks like im going to have my hands full with this one.
  20. I just got this kit for V-day and was wondering if anyone has done this kit before. if so would you be able to post some pictures of it. Thanks
  21. Wow thanks guys this really helps me out a lot i appreciate all of your comments. another question when it comes to enamel or lacqoer paints is there one that is better than the other or is the only difference that one just takes longer to dry. thanks again guys
  22. i ushally build rat rods or junkers for models and i tried a shiny one but ended up putting mud flinging up on the body cause there where some imperfections in the paint and i tried sanding it and polishing it but its didnt come out. i am starting a new model and its a 56 ford f100 and i want it to look like it just came off the showroom, but im not sure how to acheive a flawless paint job. i thought i did but it didnt turn out as flawless as i hoped (then again it was my first and only shiny build). any tips or tricks on acheiving a flawless paint job. thanks chris
