  1. R.S. have you ever watched the videos of doctor cranky before that's were I learned to do a lot that I've done. If you got to you tube and type in doctor crankys lab-rat-ory he is very good at the rusty crusty builds
  2. In some of those pictures its hard to tell if that's even a model great job that is awesome
  3. Thank you I got some bass wood from hobby lobby and cut them out with a hobby knife then cut the wood grooves in with the hobby knife and stained the wood
  4. this is a model that i did before i joined the forum. ive recently add a wash to it and it makes it stand out even more i love this model its my favorite this is the first rusty build that i have done. thought that i share some pics hope you like. my profile has pics of what the chevy pickup looked like before, just some minor details done

  7. Man that is a bad Ass car pardon my French but it is nice work
  8. I just finished a 5 window coupe I went for more of a rat rod look but I almost put the running boards with wheel wells on mine but decided against it I love what you did with this its so clean very simple but flashy love it
  9. I like very classy looking
  10. I'm not that big of fan of this color but on this car it makes me love it nice work
  11. here is the end result of my pirate rod. it is not as low as what i wanted it to be in the first place but i ran into trouble with parts breaking on me, and the frame is a little uneven because when i had the wheels on there one of them broke off so i had to do some jerry riggin to fix. this is the first model that i ever modified in anyway, not to shabby for the first one if you ask me ive looked at my older model that i have done and you can tell that im improving a little but all in good time hope you like..
  12. here is the pirate rod in its finishing stages just have a couple minor details to do to it and it should be finished. put some mig pigments on the body so it would blend in better with the rusty frame and decided to put the front and rear bumpers on to make it a little more custom looking not sure about the rear bumper sticks out kinda far so i might have to do some modification to it
  13. that is awesome i love this very creative cant wait to see more
  14. have the frame and engine components all together put sand on the tires cause more than likly this pirate rod is going to be parked at the beach.. as i was putting the sand on one of my wheels ended up breaking off got pretty frustrated but i ended up getting it back on just a little tweaking on the body and should be ready to put it on the frame..
  15. finished interior of the pirate rod added a little sand to the floor and the seat cause more than likely the captains pirate rod will be parked at the beach and add the steering wheel wanted something different than just the regual steering wheel so i cut the tops off to make it more unique
  16. thanx for all the advice guys its been a big help
  17. yes i did and you are right his shipping is fast i dont even think it took a full week for them to come in
  18. When glueing my wheels on ive always had trouble with them cause they never manage to stay straight or when they do stay straight after a while of the model sitting there they start to bend outward i was wondering if you guys used a specific kind of glue thats stronger. im just using the regular cement glue on them. thanx chris
  19. got my ak interactive washes in the mail yesterday first time using them and i love them they really make the part stand out and look worn in dirty the engine is my favorite it really makes it look like it has some ruff miles on it. hope the pictures are bigger this time.
  20. that would be awesome but it would be tough to do im not sure how i would pull that off
  21. thanks i think im gonna keep the white walls on there and i will probley scuff them up a bit to cause they do look to clean to belong to a pirate thanks for the help
  22. some pictures of the interior of the pirate rod not fully done have to add a wash to it to make it look a little worn and put some white wall on the tires but have to dirty those up a little bit so they dont look so new
  23. finally thought of what to do to the interior turned out pretty good so far just have to some final touches to it and will be done like add a wash to it to make it more worn lookin and some sandy footprints on the floor
  24. have 32 ford five window coupe and im going with a pirate theme on it but im not sure it i should put white walls on there or just leave the tires as is so i did two tires to see what it would look like but im not sure what i think if i should keep them or not.
  25. Glenn, i wasnt to sure if the chop was going to turn out either but then i added some body filler to smooth the rough edges out and it turn out pretty good and the paint job was and mistake that turned out to better in the long run my air brush was acting up when i was spraying the flat black so i had to sand it all down to respray it again and that is how i came across that look. but thanks for the compliments and the ideas they are greatly appreciated
