  1. Almost looks like I could use the same duplicolor I used on this:
  2. Looking through MCW's catalog, I found some different colors for Mecom team cars. They have the following listed: Lola T-70 Mecom - 6003 blue met. (also listed for the Corvette Grand Sport) Mecom Scarab - 5817 lt. blue met. Scarab (non-Mecom) - 5622 blue met. Does anyone have pics of their builds painted with any these colors? Thanks!
  3. Nice build, very clean work!
  4. Nice builds all, but that 250GTO looks just right!!
  5. Wow, ya hardly ever see those built, and that one looks great!
  6. I'm diggin' it!
  7. Get a piece of brass tubing the same diameter as the guages, put a sharp beveled edge on one end, tap with a hammer to punch the circle out.
  8. Do you have pics of these cars you can post or email? Does anyone make decals for this cars? Also, not familiar with the '53 Studebaker kit, so I've never seen the wheels in it. Thanks!
  9. Just got hold of a reissue of the 1/24 Monogram Scarab racecar, and am wondering if the markings in the kit are correct for a particular car/race. Also trying to find some decent wheels for it. The box art painting shows some sort of six-spoke wheel, the side of the box shows an eight spoke Minilite type wheel, but what comes in the box looks like niether. Anybody know? thanks!
  10. I'm a good bit north of Clearwater, but when I get down to Tarpon Springs to visit friends, I usally make a trip to House of Hobbies on US 19 in Palm Habour They have alot of stuff in there too.
  11. I have a Paasche VL and love it - very rugged workhorse that I have sprayed all kinds of materials through (lacquer, acrylic, urethane, epoxy, enamel, ect). When you clean it, do you totally break it down to clean, or just run thinner through it? The brass cone/tip needs to be cleaned manually when you are done with it. If you don't have a tip reamer, soak the tip in lac thinner for a few hours, then use a round toothpick soaked in lac thinner to clean any dried paint material from inside. Also, make sure the needle is both clean of any debris, and not bent. When you reassemble the airbrush, make sure the needle is seated all the way in the tip before you tighten it down.
  12. Nice looking door-slammer!!
  13. I suppose if you're only gonna do one, ya might as well do it right... and you did!

  19. Finally back online! My ISP went "Tango Uniform a couple weeks back, and I had to get a new PC, but I'm good to go now :-)
  20. Nice build, certainly looks like something that would give Al gore nightmares...love it!
  21. Sweet! That chassis is nice enough to display "nekkid"!
  22. You forgot to mention the safety precautions needed for catalyzed materials. They are a totally different animal than solvent based materials, and can cause great harm if inhaled. You MUST use a respirator rated for catalyzed materials to protect your lungs...
  23. Doing so because you want to is one thing. Having the government use it's police powers to force you to do so is quite another.
  24. that looks just right - nicely done!!
