  1. Enamel won't ever dry on the tires. Best to use acrylic. I use Tamiya acrylics for the tires. Need to thin it a little and do multiple coats. I like the lake pipes! Keep up the good work! Tim
  2. That is a lovely piece of work! Kudos for your patience and skill in painting that! Tim
  3. Clearcoating a few bodies: 49 Ford, 63 Impala, 930 Slantnose. Tim
  4. Thanks guys! I was going for a stock look for this conversion. Wonder if anyone would like to make a resin copy? :-) Will most likely keep it flat black while I finish everything else and save color for last. Keeping it flat is tough if its to be handled/moved much. Tim
  5. Latest update. Had to strip it and respray due to BMF pulling up the paint. Need to get a good few coats of Future on to prevent that next time. This time its a little more rough than I wanted, but hopefully the Future will smooth it out. Also need to find some Alclad for the chrome. Thanks, Tim
  6. Latest update. Had to strip the brown. Wasn't looking so hot. Only had black primer, so that's how it sits now. Also got these resin whitewalls in a trade w/other stuff with Danny (85gt4bbl302). The wheels are from the Monogram 55 Ford Panel. Had to sand the outside edge to get them to fit inside. Still need a little work to fit perfectly. This one is a little dark... Thanks, Tim
  7. Here's what I have. A few of Donn's cars... http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i5/tjcst25/Scale%20Modeling/Shows/South%20Hills%20Model%20and%20Toy/ Tim
  8. The show had a great turnout! Looking forward to the next one! Was great meeting you and the rest of the club guys! Will hopefully be at the next meeting! Tim
  9. Congrats Donn for kicking butt and taking names, or should that be trophies! Your work is inspiring and gorgeous! And I can't believe I missed that shirt! Tim
  10. And he does it again! Another soon-to-be masterpiece from Ira Picasso! Tim
  11. I have my brother's old 39/40 Sedan and I was always curious about a chop. I like the mild drop of the top on this! Will try the same. Tim
  12. Thanks Wayne and Jason. Greatly appreciated! Working on sanding out, hopefully for the last time, putty on the rear fenders. Then get the bed in color and clear early tomorrow and hopefully together for the most part for a show and contest on Sunday. Tim
  13. Thanks guys! Future is on. Might need another coat. Old paint lines are showing through in a few spots as I didn't strip it. Hoped the sanding between primer coats would have done it. So will most likely try to make it look like a DIY garage rod as opposed to a shop rod with flawless finish. Will get pictures later. Karate testing now, so won't be home for a while.
  14. Thanks Daniel. I think I'm going to shoot some Future on it shortly. Tim
  15. Color coat on. Wasn't sure if I'd like the brown. After some Future to shine it up, I think it'll look good. Need to get the bed sprayed tomorrow. Tim
  16. Thanks Nate! I'll have a box o'models w/me for show and the contest. See ya then! Tim
  17. Sounds like it'll be a good event! Hopefully the wife will let me spend a little $ on stuff there! How much space do you suppose we'd have to display? And what time would be best to get there by? This will be my first show. Thanks, Tim
  18. Show is this coming weekend! Have a few things to bring to show. Can you bring more than what's entered in the contest? Tim
  19. Thanks Manny! Hope to get it done this week for an upcoming show this weekend! Tim
  20. I assume airbrush? What pressure if so? I've been using Future, but can't seem to get a nice smooth finish. Thanks, Tim
  21. Thanks Brian, Doc and C Betts. Greatly appreciate all of the comments! I think this one warrants a nice shiny coat of something to help it really stand out. For some reason, UPS brown is asking to be used on this one. I have some Folk Art Coffee Bean acrylic that would fit the bill. Tim
