  1. I'll be watching this one! Tim
  2. Art, I'll be sure to trim them closely! And might just use some BMF instead of Alclad as finding it around here seems to be near impossible! Haub, would love to see you give this one a shot after seeing your other builds! Tim
  3. Just picked up some metallic amethyst by Folk Art at Wally World. The peridot metallic that I sprayed on my 49 Ford went on nicely so I'll give this one a shot. Time to get out the 1000 grit paper and go over a couple of spots lightly, then get a primer coat of white down and some final color. Hope to have this done in a few hours. Then I should get back to my Vette and Ford! Can you say ADD? Stay tuned! Tim
  4. Glad you're back at it. Looks like a learning experience for sure and quite nice workmanship! Tim
  5. Thanks guys! Do I keep the current color or find something new? I've recently found how to thin and spray Folk Art acrylic. Lots of choices there. Might try finding the same color or go totally new. Tim
  6. What tools are you using for this build? Simply no words to describe the talent you are showing for this! Tim
  7. Sweet! Glad it worked out for ya! Looking forward to seeing this in color and striping. Tim
  8. Digging through some old boxes, came across this one I started a while back. Picked it up already started w/the body painted. Modified the suspension to drop it on these 26" wheels. Also removed the running boards to help the flow of the lines. Now to decide whether to repaint it. There are some scuffs and other flaws in the paint, but I like the color. Glass is made from blister pack clear plastic as the original was missing. Tim
  9. Looks great! Nice 4 day build! Tim
  10. Looks good! The 70 is my favorite year of the TA! Tim
  11. Looking good! Tim
  12. Love this thing! Serious outside of the box thinking! Love the crank mount super chargers. Tim
  13. Body looks great! Did you work out the glass? Tim
  14. Came across this while doing a Google search on this dragster. Picked one up on my honeymoon. Looking for a quick build myself. Need to pick up some Alclad now! Looks fantastic! Tim
  15. I have a Fujimi Golf GTI started. Not a bad little kit. The AMT one is really hard to find. Wish they would repop it. Tim
  16. Color coat on the body. Need to sand it out, fix a few spots and spray on another coat yet. Tim
  17. Thanks guys! Working on the interior and chassis tonight. Small setback which I knew I would hit, but one of these days I'll learn. If you look at the top of the back seat, you'll see I put down an undercoat of black. Should have done this originally behind all the other peridot color, but tried the peridot first. Still learning 25 years later. This undercoat makes the peridot more gold, than green like the rest. Tim
  18. I will use the kit supplied V after stripping the chrome and painting it gold. Hopefully it will work well enough. If not, I'll probably make one using some sheet and a jeweler's file. Tim
  19. Love the color combo! Tim
  20. Love it! Love this kit too! Glad Round2 re-released it! Tim
  21. Erik, thanks! And the paint seems to be pretty hardy when mixed with Future. I can't scratch it with a fingernail. DanB, thanks! And this is an old AMT/Matchbox release. George Barris Cruisin USA version. Tim
  22. Here's what will go in front of that grille insert. Tim
  23. Love the combo. Beetles were air cooled! With a little creative ducting, this would easily be feasible. Tim
