  1. The color is Folk Art acrylic, metallic peridot. Supposed to be a little more green, but it doesn't look bad. I didn't spray a primer, just mixed some Future in to spray it. Came out more gold. For those curious, the grille insert is from an old electric shaver. :-) Look around your house or think twoce before you throw things away. May be useful later for modeling. And thanks Andy! Tim
  2. Nice work! Love the scratch built door handles! Need to start scavenging more household items to see what can be used in modeling! Tim
  3. Thanks Edward! I plan on using the other side for my 49 Merc that needs to be finished. Tim
  4. Thanks Doug! Forgot to mention in the first post that the whitewalls were hand painted. That was a pain, but a cordless drill on slow with the tire on a wheel and axle made things fairly easy. Need a coat of Future to shine maybe. Tim
  5. Planning on stock bumpers. Might remove the overriders. Tim
  6. Thanks guys! I'd like to hear a few more opinions. on the grille center before I divulge the secret. :-) One hint, I had to take something apart. I also plan on putting a small bumperette with lights on the ends in front of that center piece to hide it a little/help blend things in. Forget where it might have come from. Interior won't be too special. Tim
  7. While working on my vintage Vette and McLaren, I wanted to do something more out of the box type build w/some mild add-ons. I always seem to dive too deep and never get a build done, so this one is to keep the itch scratched while chugging away at those other builds that never seem to end... So here we have what someday I'd love to build in my own garage w/o having to do any major cutting, at least none w/the body. The stock grille was cut, part that was cut out of the middle filled in at the top and a custom insert was found for the center. Sorry for the poor pics, my lighting was off as I was in a hurry. Thanks, Tim
  8. Just sprayed some Metallic Peridot from Folk Art. Mixed it about 50/50 Future and a splash of 91% isopropyl. 20 PSI on my Paasche VL sprayed very well! Tim
  9. Love it! I remember seeing this somewhere a good while back. Great to see it again at this stage! Love the exhaust! How'd you get the paint to stick? And hope surgery goes w/o a hitch and congrats on the new grand baby! Tim
  10. That reminds me that I have that thing also somewhere as a glue bomb from when I was a kid! Need to dig it out next! Keep up the good work! Love the wooden bed! Tim
  11. Thanks Bill! So what do you guys do for highlighting the cut out areas of the doors, etc? Just about ready for the color coat, but want to get the doors and other areas to look more realistic. Thanks, Tim
  12. Great googlymoogly that's fabulous work! Don't keep us waiting! Tim
  13. I have some from an old Monogram Ford Panel: Looks like they reissued it at least once: Love the creativity! Tim
  14. Love it! Might have missed a previous answer to your post about windows, but what I'd do is make some paper/card stock templates for front and rear, transfer to some blister pack cutouts (clear plastic that most items are packaged in nowadays) and cut to match. Running it under some hot water and bending w/your fingers should contour the edges well enough. Use some Elmer's glue or Future to attach to body. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing more! Tim
  15. Fabulous and welcome back to modeling!!! Your patience has paid off 110%! Tim
  16. B-dub, just picked some of the Folk Art acrylics up as I hate spending so much $ on Tamiya paint. What was your mix ratio? Thanks, Tim
  17. Thanks! I used a pin vise drill to open up a small hole in between and then a jewelers file to open it up more. I need a slightly smaller file to get it perfect. Need to also figure out a way to get all the fuzzies cleaned up from the file.
  18. Pics of the work done yesterday. Tim
  19. Pics of my Saturday work on my 55 Vette. Pulled the grille out of the purple pond. No more chrome. Tim
  20. Ken, it happens to all of us! Whatcha gonna start next? Tim

  22. Chuck, looks good to me! Tim
  23. Got more work done today. Body and chassis/interior primed. Interior has its color coat. Will get pics in the morn. Tim
  24. Finally got my spray booth set back up and got some primer on my 55 Vette and the interior has its main color coat. Also got my McLaren M8B out of the purple pond and the nose and rear cowl primered. Will post pics in the morn. Too tired to get them now! Tim
