    Thank you Alain. You're absolutely correct. The lower part of the cylinder should be below the ramp hinge axis. I will make cylinder mounting plates for this correction.

    Alan, here's a link to the kit that the excavator comes with. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Ray-1-32-Peterbilt-379-w-Lowboy-Trailer-Challenger-Excavator-NRY11283-/321315452174 The truck and trailer are 1/32 scale, but the excavator is 1/25 scale. The link is for reference only. Shop around and you'll find these selling between 25 and 30 dollars.

    Jim is right. This has to be the worst part of model building. If this is any consolation, just look at the awesome paint job on the cab and hood that will be applied to this troubling sleeper.

    Thank you Hessel. All frame and ramp rails are cut by hand. The square tubing is by Evergreen.
