  1. The container is nearing completion. I was able to fabricate a working latch mechanism for the door. I have a set of diamond plate rear fenders (AITM) that will be used and when those are mounted, an auto tarp system will be installed. The tarp tower and gantry will be hydraulic: Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki It’s time to start concentrating on the rest of the truck…completing the chassis, drive train and interior or at least try to
  2. Sounds like the start of a nice project! Looking forward to following this build. Will this be your first 352?
  3. The wheel looks very nice! Do you use a photo sharing service such as Photobucket or Fotki?
  4. Very nice detailing on the cab supports.
  5. It's coming along real nice Charles and the yellow appears to be a perfect match
  6. I have put this on the back burner for now. I needed a break from it so I'm working on my Mack roll-off.
  7. Chris, I must say your models are outstanding! Very impressive! I am familiar with the CSI paint scheme, as it was used by E.L. Dauphinais in North Grafton MA (I'm quite sure they owned CSI). Seeing the DM 800 brings back lots of memories of their well maintained fleet!
  8. Pavel, somehow I missed this topic. I really like your weathering technique and the results are very nice!
  9. It's good to see you back on this build and your front axle looks terrific! I sincerely hope that the situation in Greece turns around for everyone.
  10. You did an excellent job with this build! I hope you plan to build more truck models.
  11. Good for you Clayton! I like your attitude about getting it finished for the contest. If it's not done in time, it's no big deal
  12. Thanks Dave. The roll-off chassis is loosely based on a Stellar Cable 75 unit that is 270 inches long. The container will be a Wastequip rectangular style roll-off with a height of approximately 73 inches.
  13. This is the nicest short nose DR I've seen! With all the detailing and custom exhaust you nailed it...great job Brian!
  14. That's a fine looking Lonestar Chris and an awesome paint job!
  15. Since music wire is hardened steel, it's difficult to cut without the proper tool. Regular wire cutters can easily be ruined. I found this cutter at Home Depot and it works great! For my current project I'm using .047 music wire and this tool cut it with ease. For those who have a Dremel ( I don't), you're able to cut it. I paid $9.00 for them...well worth it!
  16. Thanks everyone! I think it was good to take a break from building for awhile. When it starts to feel like you have to do it instead of wanting to, a little time off can be a positive thing
  17. 08-28-15 Update: I can’t believe it’s been two months since the last update. It feels good to be back on the bench! Both lift cylinders are built along with the reeving cylinder and sheaves. Here’s some mockup pics to date: Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I’m pleased with the results so far…now I’ll make the final fit adjustments. I’ll be focusing on plans for the container and start construction in the near future.
  18. Looks real nice Sam. I agree with Brian on the resin options.
  19. Thanks for sharing this information. I'm surprised to see the '59 logger equipped with chain drive...interesting!
  20. Your builds never disappoint...excellent!
  21. Bill, this is a nice project and I'm looking forward to your progress
