thnx and yes in daylight the colors come aross more like its in real life , most pictures i take when building are in the dark with artificial light .. so that always comes out real flat

whell i was thinking on some old texaco signs ... need to borrough the printer of my neighbour though , still need to buy a decent printer and yes do that i'm curious on that disney dio and what parts you can use dig it out and open a thread like on mine in the end i only used the roof and thats it , the dimensions and looks are pretty much like it was ..

decided to board up the bottom left windows due to the previous mentioned gap , in fact i think it fits the theme whell !! also made a doorhandle from brass tube and from very thin brass sheet a lockplate

yes lol found an old lego sign and cut most off untill i got this left , put a styrene plate under it with some pins for bolts after some chrome and a rust wash it came out like this , also did some bolts on the roof sign o the bottom left i cant get the window to sit right there is a small gap , so i'm thinking of putting some boards in front like the glass was broken there

thnx guys !! and they you mean like a hose running over the ground so when a car drives over a bell rings ? i was planning of doing that indeed yesterday i decided to make the airvent in the window more realistic , because it was hard to work on at this point i decided to use real steel mesh to spice it up

now and thats the whole point and idea , i love rats but the idea that somebody would take shortcuts and drive a unsafe vehicle on the road .. that just does not go for me .. now i'm here in holland and we (sadly) dont have a lot of cool rods on the roads (actually there are a few really awsome rods and ratrods ) or never see them .. but the fact remains that if somebody chooses to drive a unsafe build vehicle and that doesnt have to be a rat rod , it can be anything from a honda to a motorcycle , any vehicle ... thats just plain stupid .... i am sure there are enough home build hotrods / ratrods or ... that are safe , look awsome but stop and steer good are welded the correct way etc etc .... i also think we did not go beyond the point of the thread and discussion we just found a new chapter / subject within to discus about .. and yes we where talking about real vehicles so no point to get the modelcars in this discussion on those we can do what we want .. even make bad glue seems .. because when it breaks it wont have the risk of driving into a real person or hit a pedestrian ....... i think when you take the time / effort and want to build a vehicle why not take the extra effort and make it safe .. because yes ratrods where esentially hotrods , normal hotrods , made to be driven and the owners just drove it in primer / bad paint and did not care about the shinyness .. but they where real petrolheads / gearheads and good back-yard mechanics who loved to tinker with their cars and make they go faster .. faster by stripping weight and adding some power ... hat evolved into what you see today ... vehicles build to be rough / tough and with proportions that sometimes blow your mind .. i personally love them to death and can really enjoy awsome looking ratrods / hotrods etc etc ... but when it comes to the point where sombody wants to use that vehicle on a public road , and it doesnt matter if its for a few miles a year or weekends only or daily ....you just need to make sure its safe ....safe enough so you are sure the frame doesnt break in half , parts dont fly off , the steering and braking are dependable ..... those are really basic things of the construction .. nothing fancy or ..... so that said i dont see why some think this is a discussion going out of hand whats wrong with a discussion ? just a few people talking about something and giving their opinion .... just one thing > i would pitty the person who would hit my son - wife or anybody around me with a knowingly unsafe build car .. thats all ...jail time would not be a issue for me if they would kill somebody with such a vehicle ...

redid the front today , painted the wood white and downtoned it , then added a wash , now the diference is now the boards are weathered at the edge insted of in the seems .. then put everything in a coat of matt varnish , everything exept the roof .. all is now sealed annd it brought everything a tad more to live the airvent in the window , want to make that more realistic and add real lamels , also with some glasswork it will look better

thnx thnx , sadly the cam on my phone i used is lousy so the movie doent really shows the details real good , i have to get like a small nice hd cam some day , those things are not expensive at all so .. and yes i love bluess .. not a super expert because i never been a guy to tie myself to pesific artists or music genres .. i do love bluess .. the funny thing is i wanted to put some bluess in and i tried to play some on my pc while filming .. that was no succes so i decided to film it outside , better lighting and only birds to hear .. but when i uploaded it to youtube i could edit the movie there and add music , so i typed in bluess , listened to a few in the list and found this song , loved the sound and so added it but again i'm a big bluess fan , i also like a bit of jazz and hmm reggae , r&b , hiphop is also something i'm really crazy about .. in general if i would make a list of music i like it would be a weird one because a lot of people like a certain genre and only stick with that my likings are real broad .... here is a nother video , also lousy qualiy but ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_UH-yXAOsw

now bill , in my 2 previous replyes i was only talking about looks and style , but the subject you adressed > i support you completly ... if you want to build a rod and drive it on the road , make sure its safe and ...and i'm sure there are a lot of dodgy builds out there ... but the purist would ... its like i'm on the biggest members only lowbudget chopper build forum for holland and we also have a lot of belgium guys .. now low budget does not mean it has to be slapped together , we have guys who are wizards in metal and build their own frames . just create one piece brass gastanks for a self build and designed old looking boardtracker with harley engine .. we have a thread there called death traps , its full of pictures and links to build threads and adverts of bikes for sale in holland and ... some are just like wtf how would you even consider driving it .. the fact is some people want like a rod or bad as bike and think they can do it themselfs while they cant .. same thing is when people change vehicles and dont get it trhough tech inspection with new and proper papers ... then you wont be insured when your in a accident .... long story short i agree stuff needs to be safe and has to be up to spec if you want to use it on public roads , its one thing to risk your own life but dont risk anyone else his life ....

made a test version of a old vending machine a few minutes ago , i need to look on the net what i will make (sort of).. so this was a nice testversion made from scraps .. i also want to make a old coca cola vending machine ... put it in for some inspiration also added some random decals on the door , i will put more on later on , need to make a nice doorknob on the door with lockplate tested some silver plate with glass in front

thnx guys btw i read some more comments and i just want to explain what is "to get" about a rat (hey i'm even rhyming lol ) its simple there are people who really think it looks great / is beautifull , looks stunning .. i'm one of those people who just absolutly loves the whole look / concept and feel ... we could go further on this , because i also love a shiney rod / car etc .. but lets take cars on shows , lets stay with hotrods and customs .. take cars that compete for the riddler award .. such awsome details and perfection ... but in a way its as pointless as a rat / rusted car .. its all just a visual thing .. so even the perfectly shiney cars could be looked at as ... i also get that some people just dont like the look but hey thats taste so what is not to get , one person loves to put mustard on his food and a nother person is disgusted by the idea alone .. again taste and it does not matter if its visial or .... and whell this is me trying to promote the whole rat idea in a very different way > bare with me > buildings .... i love industrial old knackered buildings , old sheds .. and a lot of people love that in fact how often do you see a build of a barn / barnfind ... we could also say then .. hmm a old building with charme and character .. why not make it perfect and shiney ?? same thing .. in the end we (again) come back to the personal taste thing again , so anybody who says he doesnt get it either didnt read this text or does not understand the whole concept that people are different and like difefrent things in life and hey how cool is that ... we are not boring hahaha

whell i have wooden coffee stirers from ikea ... i dont know if you have a ikea in your earea , if you do go drink coffe and take as many as ..... usually i ask somebody if i can take a hand full for modelbuilding .. they are perfect for a barn or rural gasstation because they are all different , as far as coffe stirrers go they suck and are lousy and cheap , but for our need they are perfect .. the edges are never straight and the have imperfections all over ....best ever for older buildings
