because i only made the facefront of the building i had natural light coming from "inside" so i desided to close it with wood and make it look like it could open , its a display window , later i can add oil cans etc in the window rough base from left over pieces of wood sitting behind there , nice extra detail also then washed the woord , the higher beams are lighter and woth a tad of sanding i got a cool effect on this picture the wood wash really shows .. and .. i looked at this and went , whow i will make some wooden fencing there , not only does that look awsome and add more detail it also acts as a block when i photograph a car in there bonus decolored haha

whell did some washes and tied in everything some more .. weathered the pumps so they look dirty and older , choose not to use rust or grease made ribbed sides on the building to hide the screws that hold on the roof and also added one on the sign holder then washed everything with brown and also washed the woodwork a tiny bit
-
the roof is done last shingles went on tonight ! also did some tar around the shimney and tar in the corners where the front and rear roof meet , also some mild tar on the signholder .. finished the rood edge on the right and made some wooden roofedges on the sides (clapboards ??_ now i need to put a killer sign on the roof and add some brackets with some old looking spotlights that pint on the sign ... first i want to make raingutters along the bottom of the roof now .. on the wooden centerpiece on the front center of the front roof i added a small flag pole , i want to put a round cap on it , some lines and add a hanging flag (like there is no wind) oh and check the mild bird droppings lol

thnx arno , whell not even half way and some things will get some more work .. i have so many cool ideas whell today i got home and the shingles where sitting dead flat , so anybody who wants to use sandpaper for shingles with regulair glue if the curl just waight till the next day and they sit dead flat .. now i took a steel pin and bend some shingle up again , way better now some sit flat and some are curled .. nice contrast .. also the sanding with sandpaper made them look way more interesting only need to do the right side of the roof now .. and then start on some rain gutters along the bottom of the roof .. make drain pipes ... the result of today , just curled some up by hand a 3 way bracket with rods for the chimney
-
whell when the glue dryed the shingles leveled out more and got less curl , just finished the left side of the front roof , right side i hope to get done tomorrow , its a lot of work (read takes a lot of time) also made a wooden center piece in the front of the front roof and a wooden clapboard on the left side dont mind the red on the signholder that will be gone when i have a cool sign there , that red looks horrible

nice !!! very nice looking dio , love the rustholes although they might be a bit much when the rest is still so clean and shiney ? but again very cool !
-
thnx and yes i was planning of doint some black lines in certain earea's when the roof is done , maybe some birddroppings also haha btw the foor already looks better , i flattened it a bit , still a bit curled .. and went over the shingles with a nother piece of sandpaper (sandpaper on sandpaper so to speak) that gave a cool effect , became a tad lighter so they are now grey with black also covered the top and sides of the red sign with sandpaper looks so much better will make some pics later
-
started on the roof today , used 600 grid sandpaper and cut shingles out of that .. while gluing them on the sat tight against the roof , while drying they curled like you see on the picture .. i was like hmmzz but i cant keep them sitting flat it doesnt look real bad though ...
-
will do ed thnx and whell not sure yet , i already had found some usefull logos from texaco ... still need to figure out where and how i will put and make the signs but like you said i'd better go do the roof now
-
very cool Q!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
hmm i think the forst one , just the bullet , this elaves some depth in the wheel ... both look fine though
-
whow cool , btw i also dig the bike in the bg !! what scale is that 1/12 or 1/16 ??
-
i already saw some cool red / green texaco logos ... whell worked all day on the paint of the building ... its a long story but when i just painted it shiney and .. it just didnt look nice and felt soulledss so i could not help myself and weathered it .... only a rough start so more will follow .. there will be parts that are less weatered later ... and the roof is next and that has to become superrealistic !! so i desided tomorrow i will cut of the lousy sign holder of the roof , close that and i will hand cut roofshingles and shingle the roof one shingle at a time , just like irl ... i think that will become awsome the airmeter in the middle needs more paint , especially on the compressor , some silver and a black belt in the center of the round top in the reces part will sit a air-dial , like a gauge where you can read the airpressure , will print one and put glass in front of it

thnx ed , i was thinking about texaco maybe ?? seems cool
