  1. awsome detail !!
  2. and started on the gass pumps ... took some ballpointpen parts and a cap from a tube with ....cant seem to find the right word (see previous post) sawed up 2 clear pens and got these glass houses out of them some rods used from cuetips lol and whell made it look like some fuel was inside , i reconed orange clear would work ? i didnt have anything better .. and i thought most pumps you buy are empty so its always better detail wise whell since even my plastruct glue would not glue these types of plastics i used regulair glue so i could not continue it was to fragile without the glue hardened
  3. thnx ira !!! just added a beam on the side of the roof (underside) and some caps to get an idea when there are pumps , could be a cool base to build some glass top pumps a plastic box against the wall as inspiration , i want to make a old vending machine there
  4. thnx guys and larry here you go > i had a bunch of spare tube ends from .. uuhhmmm how do you call that in english ?? a translator does not seem to know it either ?? its for diy a cilinder with stuff in to close seems (lol at my discription) anyway i sawed off a small piece ... wich slided over the support poles and so i had a thicker bottom made a cross beam on the top of the poles then added 2 more wooden beams in the front roof frame for the inside i used ribbed plastic that came of old plastic window blinds , you only see a tiny bit of the inside so using wood ..hmm i can use that better in other earea's closed the inside with a straight point and some wooden beams and made some extra supports on the strut poles under the roof the sides of the bottom line of the roof also will get a beam
  5. thnx Michael , whell still the rough start i hope to get to the details soon
  6. whow thats soo cool
  7. soo awsome , i saw one of these cars last week and thought about you and this build thread > means your doing a perfect job
  8. thnx jonas whell the base for the wondows where plastic window frames from pola g (big train scale) i had some pieces left from my garage diorama and put 2 together and made the surround with wood note on this update , i;m making more with wood but bare with me , most stuff will not look like wood at all when i'm done like the base for the pumps that will become concrete and the pillars will become steel .. and the wood that is ment to still look like wood in the end will be painted base for the pumps with pillars , now this is the rough base the pillars will be wider at the bottom and i will add a mounting plate and bolts into the concrete .. so just a bare skeleton
  9. again awsome progress i love it
  10. thnx ron and yes its not done in a ... but thats the fun right what about the roof my plan is to cover that in roofshingles .. would be a massive job haha after the last update i build on and put some bondo in the wider seems on the front door most of the time the point of the roof is closed and it has a ceiling , that takes away a lot of visibility and tends to make it look flat and again i need depth because its not a whole building .. so i desided to combine the looks of a old barn and make wooden support beams , this also ties in with the rest of the wood work the inside of the roof is rough from anding of all cast marks and mount brackets .. i was thinking i could put wooden planking in there .. just have to see how much wilol remain visible i wanted to ad 2 more supports and put one on eitch side of the center beam in a anlge put that became too ..what the word dollhouse like hahahaha then under the roof i need to make a raised concrete piece to put the gasspumps on and make support pillars from the roof to the concrete the sign holder on the roof will be made from wood also (or read covered in) a test and this shows it will be cool to use as a photobooth for my models
  11. thnx today i continued the siding the srews in the roof are temporary on the sides of the building i put wood , used paint stirers from out local diy market finished the siding and started work on the door , just made a fantasy patern from wood this shows it better , note : i did the imperfect look on purpose , not everything level and not perfectly matching and ... i want the building to have some soul and age
  12. looking superb !!!
  13. whoooow , thats all i got to say stunning
  14. whell i really started now ... chosen to only do the face / front of the building , i want to be able to put cars in front and also want to make a road and street lantern and .. pfft so much idea's . i will build a separate service garage next to this gassstation after research i realised i loved the simple 1930 wooden gasstation , the charm i just loved a example below , i will not rebuild anything from a picture but build my own version as base for the front i used a thin piece of mdf i had 2 broken windows left from the garage and made one new one out of that , this will be one big window where i can display some oild cans in and add some depth since i'm only doing the front instead of a whole building as example with a wheel , its quit spaceous on the right i will not make a window , i got other plans with that started old looking siding , i'm using coffee stirrers fron ikea , they are ideal not one is the same shape , looks real old used as siding just a start and i have so much cool ideas , first i will continue the siding and front ... btw i will make the building slightly weathered to be able to add more detail in paint
  15. i'm a fan , also the fiberglass one piece front you made like the fiberglass is broke in pieves on the wing is just stunning
  16. thnx , and i did google them so much different styles today i made like a facefront only .. now i'm really in doubt .. full building or facade only .... hmmzzz full building is nicer but then this roof isnt really suited ..
  17. thats awsome !! i would remove the log / tree from the roof for me thats overkill / the dio doenst need that , the barn / shed looks stunning
  18. thnx whell last night i went into my shed and found a old plate i made for the garage back then , ist already primered in base grey .. on the garage i wanted something more stirdy but on the servicestation i think its nicer to use a thin baseplate so this will become the dimensions , so i can put a road in front and a street lantern maybe a old road sign .. a large pole with servicestation logo ?? for now to look how high the roof needs to be i put it on a wooden box , its now 4 mm higher then with the face front that was originally under the roof ... so all just testing and looking what to do .. also put a van and a pick-up beside it because those are quit big in size in comparison to the smaller hotrods and i also want bigger models to match correct
  19. much better channeled like you did , nice stance , not to low and not to high
  20. truely cool , love the weathering .. looks soo convincing !!!!!!!
  21. grrr whell it seems i reached the limit ... i will delete some pics there ...so these will show again .. btw it wasnt really interesting yet ...
  22. if you are going to build this .. i'm sitting at the point of my chair ... hmm this thread will need some pop corn .. make some pics along the way arno , very curious here
