'31 model a tudor (chopped and channeled)
crazyrichard replied to crazyrichard's topic in WIP: Model Cars
well enough sinkmarks in this kit > got to love monogram hehe decided to clean all the lines on the top , its supposed to be a canvas rood and there is a thick seperation line on the roof , the front part had structure to resemble a canvas roof.. also had horizontal lines on the backside that run trough the horizontal molding ... flattened everything so its now one steel body , scribed the horizontal moldings so that runs nice and smooth again on the bottom side on the back the body had a sort of sticking out part , i cut that of so the underside is as low as on the sides after getting rid of the massive sinkholes in the dash i placed the gauge housing , sanded that more round and drilled holes so i can place dials inside made a central switch (push / pull switch) -

awsome build !!
-
going to be a slower build not really in the winter build rythem but already started to ..... the boxart nice supprise inside with surfboards awsome wheels very cool body , the styrene is really thin so still thinking if a top chop is wise , the roof and rear are one piece and the cowl and windscreen post a second part and loose doors . considering the thickness of the styrene i'm not sure if it will be steady enough .. but not saying i wont chop it lol

well i went to the fair and it was awsome , saw a lot of people from the dutch forum always nice to see a face behind the person online .. and mannnn what a reactions i got on my garage and hotrods .. really bizarre .. i kept talking to people and got only great reactions and everybody who saw my table wanted to ask or talk never expected so much ..... most of the forum who where there with their models all said whow its so tiny in real life and those details are tiny.. and that it looked even better irl then on pictures , i felt the same zbout a lot of models i saw online and now irl first time ever to a model event but it was cool i took a black sheet and that worked great the black surface was very cool when everything was placed on it

looking great !!!!!!! -
for fine salt i would try to break a few old white light bulbs and put it in a bowl and grind the glass down .. thats very very fine glass and you can almost grind it into a white powder .. why glass , if you grind it it looks like salt ... its still strong and resistant , gluable you could mix glue and grinded glass and make a spreadable pulp out of it .. just try to take and old light buld put it in a cloth and brake it with something hard you will see how fine that glass is i did not try it yet but that was my plan .... not to proud to share it here before trying it myself haha but i will try that myself and i am convinced thats going to be very realistic
