  1. I'm surprised Mr. Mesner, you have not contacted me on my above offer. It's free. Just give me a "yes" or "no". Scott
  2. I'm waiting for a Promo of the convertible version of this car. Has anybody heard anything in this direction yet? Scott
  3. Tough to beat Duesenberg on anything Art. The greatest cars ever built in this country. After all "it's a Deuse." Scott
  4. Greg and Don you sure hit on the best of Japanese cars (posts 66 and 67, not 65). And note, I said "cars". Japan has built a few great cars over the years. The only ones I would say you are missing are the Datsun 1600 and 2000 sports car from the 60's, and the 1st generation Celica. Maybe the 1st gen RX-7? But in general, their cars are nothing more than appliances. Great appliances that do their job well. But with little soul or personality. Which is okay, if that's what you want. Speaking the Japanese auto industry and tying this tread back to Crosley. There was a Datsun built in the early 1950's that almost looks like a direct rip off of the postwar Crosley styling wise. Some people have even assumed in the past that Nissan/Datsun bought the Crosley body dies. Still is not the case. In fact, I'd have to go back a do some research, but Crosley and Datsun may have gotten into a roe over it. The North Star Crosley Club meets this next Monday. I'll have to ask Fred Syrdal about that. If anybody knows, Fred does. Scott
  5. The Double Dragster kit I ordered off of eBay on the 9th got here. That's fast service! Scott
  6. That is very kool! Any other photos? Scott
  7. Ole and Lena had been married for 60 years. One day Lena turned to Ole and said, "Do you know what would be romantic Ole? If we had breakfast together in nude like we use to when we young." Ole thinks it's a strange request, but agrees to do it the next morning. The next morning Lena gets up and puts together a wonderful breakfast of eggs, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, bacon, and oatmeal. She calls Ole down to breakfast. They're sitting across the table from each other in the buff, and Lena looks romantically at Ole, she leans over, puts her hand up to her chest and says, "Oh Ole, this is so romantic. It gives me such in warm feeling in my breast!" Ole looks at her, and says, "Well it should Lena. You got one hanging in the coffee, and the other hanging in your oatmeal!" Scott
  8. Another one I love is the '66 and '67 Buick Riviera dashboard, below. I also like the '71 and '72 Riviera dash. '71 - '74 full-size Oldsmobiles had great dashboards too. Scott
  9. There are many paths on the journey through life. I think I might have chosen the psychopath.
  10. Mike to Charlie the bartender: "Pour me a stiff one, Charlie. I just had another fight with the little woman." Charlie: "Oh yeah? And how did this one end?" Mike: "She came to me on her hands and knees." Charlie: "Really? That's a switch. What did she say?" Mike: "She said, 'Come out from under that bed, you gutless wonder!"
  11. Why did Johnny bring a ladder with him to school? He wanted to go to "high" school!
  12. Boy the beauty of the 8-lug wheel is just not there in Moebius' kit wheel as of yet. The more I see them, the less I like them. And I've always liked the ones on other models and the real thing. Scott
  13. Here's an old Halloween joke for you. Why can the skeleton not cross the road? He's got no guts! Scott
  14. Other than the boot not being flush, how is it otherwise? Scott

    Maverick

Very nice and clean. I like it. Scott
  16. Congrats. It sounds like your having fun. That's a good thing. Scott
  17. Mr. Mesner I'm building my AMT '27 T stock. I might be able to send you the custom engine parts, if they will fit on the Fruit Wagon's stock engine. Scott
  18. '60 wheel? Maybe on a '60 Pontiac, but I'm pretty sure the 8-lug wheels didn't come out until '61. Like Buick 5-spokes on some Buicks, you'll find Pontiac 8-lugs on Pontiacs that didn't originally come with them. Scott
  19. Oh man, give me a break! "I'll have to use that the next time I drive to a Chamber of Commerce meeting." What!? That thing is terrible! Would it even be street legal? I don't see any headlights for one thing. That's carrying the idea a little too far. And I do remember the Jolly Roger street rod model. I never like that one either. But, it looked better than the above! Scott
  20. Your right Tom, the Camry is nothing more than an appliance. It's a better at doing its job than a Crosley. But, unlike the the Crosley, the Camry is not a car. A car has personality. Something most Japanesse cars do not have. Scott
  21. The '60 - '62 Chrysler dashboards is still one of the best. Any Thunderbird dashboard from 1955 - 1971. '58 - '82 Corvettes also. Studebaker Avantis and Hawks. But, my all time favorite dashboard is below. The Cord 810/812. Scott
  22. Harry, you said that you saw the Twenty Grand at local museum. Is that the Volo museum by any chance? Scott
  23. Ah, Harry. The famous Twenty Grand! Built for display at 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair. The body was designed by Gordon Buehrig (also designer of the Cord 810/812), built Rollston, and catalogued as a Allington sport sedan. But, it picked up the nickname Twenty Grand, for it's out ragus price of $20,000! Remember, this was a time when a new '33 Ford could be had for anywhere from $510 for a standard roadster, to $610 for a deluxe Fordor sedan. In the middle of the Great Depression! Scott
  24. Looking at photos on the internet of the real thing, I guess it's right. Maybe because the model is "jacked up" in the rear, it looks wrong? Scott
  25. Thanks for sharing photos of your models Alan. I'm curious, and this question is for anybody, is the body of '32 sedan delivery short compared to the real car? It may not be. But, it looks just a tad short to me. Scott
