  1. That's the version of the Piranha(s) I would still like to see. But, I'll still buy the one coming in January. Scott
  2. I'm sorry. But the more I look at those 4-piece 8 lug wheels, the less I like them. Is this a deal breaker in me buying the kit? No, but they just don't look right, or good to me. It's interesting, I've never compared other 8 lug model kit wheels to the real thing. Never thought to. They just looked right over all. The Moebuis ones, while I like the technical sophistication of them, allowing them to be more easily painted. The fin spacing and the lugs do not not look right. And shouldn't the hub caps have PONTIAC MOTOR DIVISION stamped in them? I hate to criticize anything Moebius does. They are still some of the best kits out there. This kit scares my a little bit. Great choice for subject matter. But, the wheels and the belt line at "C" pillar worry me that the kit may not be up to previous Moebius standards. Again, it will not stop me from buying the Ventura at least. But, I will not be as pleased with the kit as I have been with previous Moebius purchases. Scott
  3. Great job! Beautiful. Scott
  4. Interesting. I'd like to learn more about how it was designed and engineered. A beautiful piece of art. Scott
  5. The two sources you offered links to make me unsure on the top color. If the top is tan. It's a very light tan. Not like what was seen on later variations of the Monkeemobile. Which for sure had a tan top and interior. The interior should always be white with black carpet. The color of the dash? It's not tan as used later on. Nor white as some sources have claimed, and some models have shown. Scott
  6. Tan top Harry? Are you sure of that? All of the photos I've ever seen of the car from the 60's sure look white to me. Later in the 80's the car showed up with a tan top and interior. I keep the above picture on file just to remind me of what the original colors for the interior were. One of the cars the Monkees themselves use in the 1980's a later, had a tan interior with a tan dashboard. This never seemed right to me. Sorry that picture does not show the color of the top. But again, the pictures I've seem from back in the day, look white to me. Scott
  7. I'm still pro GM. Every non GM vehicle I've owned has never been as good of a car or truck as my GM vehicles have been. A lot of the other brands have been good. And I have had problems with my GMs from time to time. But in general, The GMs have that give me the best overall performance, comfort, dependability, and value for my dollar. Has GM made a lot of mistakes in the past? And even in the present? Yes. And they were/are stupid mistakes that should not have been made in many cases. And there are times I get tired of reading about GM's shenanigans. And think about changing my brand loyalty. But, then I get into one of many GM products I've owned over the years, turn the key, and am reminded of why I like their products best. I do think some of the GM bashing is a little unfair. And again, it is some what deserved. General Motors is big. It's built/builds a lot of cars and trucks. So it's recalls will tend to be big too. There are a lot of cars and trucks they've built that are not recalled too. Does this justify the bad products and mistakes they've made? No. But let's keep a realistic view of things here. There is a reason they were once the largest producer of cars and trucks in the world. And it wasn't because everything they built (or build) was BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. What will my next car or truck be, when the time comes? It's hard to say. But there is a better than 50/50 chance it will be a GM product. Scott
  8. Again, it's not polite to use that four letter word around me. I'm quite insulted. Take away the "S" and the "W" and you'll get my opinion on the white stuff. Scott
  9. Since it came up, one of my "Guilty Pleasures" is just about any kit designed with the use of metal axles in mind. My big concern with any kit has been how does it look overall sitting on the shelf then it's finished? It's seems like the kits designed with metal axles in mind, were always a little less fussy, and easier to build. And 99% of the time the wheels were straight and stayed on the kit. I also like chassis that attach to the body via screws. Again, most things lined up and held in place. Scott
  10. Okay Mark's explanation I understood. And now I understand where MPC's '32 sedan delivery fits into this story. The main reason I'm interested in the sedan delivery is it's the only '32 body style I know of that has not been offered by AMT or Revell. Scott
  11. Amen. We've gone from temps in the 80s last weekend to possible snow tonight! NO!!!!!! I guess that's what I get for living in Minnesnowta. Scott
  12. I've always like the GMCs a little better than the Chevy. Even though I plan on buying the Blazer, I hope Round 2 will consider reissuing the Jimmy someday soon. Scott
  13. Very nice job on the build Al. But, boy the headlamps and rear bumper fit leave a lot to be desired. I'm disappointed. I have this kit in the soon to do pile. I wonder if there is anyway to fix those two problems? Scott
  14. I'd like to see some clearer pictures. As it sits now, other than the rear bumper, it looks okay. But, lighting and shadows are such, it's really though to tell. Scott
  15. My two are still Lincoln's Futura and GM's Firebird III. I also like the Alexander Brothers' Dodge Deora. Scott
  16. I'm more confused after reading the above comments. What are you talking about? What does this have to do with MPC Switchers? Scott
  17. Thank for info Dave. I do like the idea of doing the wheels in four pieces. It will make painting them to make them correctly easier. Scott
  18. Thank for posting more pictures, Art. Looks nice from every angle. Scott
  19. Beautiful. First Lambo in years that I like the looks of. Scott
  20. Yea I know, I got the '75 Caddy coupe. Still a late 60's Eldo will be cool too. And Billy Joe, JoHan did do the '59 Dodge too. I'm sure both of those cars come from old JoHan tooling. But, who's doing it? Moebius? Scott
  21. Never thought about it, because I've never had a problem with it. Scott
  22. Just got the recent reissue a couple of weeks ago. It's fun to see one built. Anymore pictures? Scott
  23. Art, I love Pontiac 8 lug wheels. As long as they look right I'll be happy. But, that was the big news? I'm a little disappointed. Three pieces make me wonder how hard they will be to put together. But, knowing Moebius I'm sure they'll be okay. Scott
  24. Say, look next to the 1/12 scale Mustang. Are those late 60's Cadillac Eldoraos? Scott
