Excellent work, Man.....It's great to see one of these built up....Great job on the logo and the quad setup....I think it looks a lot better, that way..... -

Italeri...Volvo, Pete 378, & refer
kilrathy10 replied to tbill's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Until Moebius came out with the Lonestar and Prostar, the Volvo was my favorite kit....Even without the engine, it was 1/24 scale, and it looks awesome with my scratch built race trailers......No modifications necessary......1/24 scale is easier to do in my head, so I can scratch stuff up, way faster than 1/25 scale.....Although, I do agree that the addition of an engine and multipiece frame would be much better.....I don't have my hopes up for that, though....Italeri is famous for reissuing stuff with the only modification being a new set of decals......I'm thinking that this is the way they'll go..... And no offense, Matt, but I just can't get used to that VT880.....Just doesn't do it for me.....I think they could have done a little better aesthetically....But, that's just me....It's shiny and new, so someone is bound to buy a few.... And I have to admit, I do find the local delivery trailers around here, are in fact about that height....Refering to the 48' refer trailer Italeri has tried to pass off as a 53'er, recently.....That was one of the worst bits of false advertising I'd seen, yet....And they've done stuff like that, before......The Container Trailer with an American chassis on the box art.....The 378 Long Hauler with the picture of the 379 on the front.....The list doesn't stop, there, but most of you know what I'm saying... I regress, though....Until Moebius stepped up with theirs, they were the only game in town.....We'll see....Not sure why it would be so hard to include a fuel tank in the dadgum box, but ok....That stuff aside, all I really mean to say is that there is still a use for that trailer, so I'd still buy a couple.... -
Excellent build, Man....I see these things all the time around here.....These boys like to go crazy with them, too.....Great work...

Great looking model....You can never go wrong with red.....I feel you on the stolen model thing.....I lost 5 really good ones while I was moving a while back....It happened twice, actually....I've forgiven them, so no biggie, but still makes me wonder why......Looks great.... -

This is a great looking model...I've seen this one, before, but never built up......I love looking at earlier works guys have done....This is a benchmark as to how your skills have progressed.....From out of the box to what you've been posting to date.....I have one of those tankers and have been trying to figure out what to do with it....I've had it for years.....It's just been sitting on the shelf...... Love the collection and display case, too.....And what a collection it is.....I've got one of those Simba kits, as well......I'm contemplating building it, next.....Not sure what to build, next, myself.....Got that same case of builder's block, myself..... It's good you've introduced your son to the hobby.....Just be patient.....One day he'll come around.... -

I think we all are with you about the refer trailer....I remember being so terribly disappointed with the height, that I wanted to cry.... But the Volvo will be nice to see return.....And the 378 is better suited as a daycab.....Even the last one I built I made lots of modifications, but it just didn't look that great as a long hauler.....I'd love to see that come back out....This time I'll grab a FEW of them..... -

Dude, these all look great.....I, too, like the Pepsi truck with the machine inside.....That is a really nice touch, and the weathering is spot on.....Very nice work.....Makes me want to grab one of those..... That Freightliner looks awesome, too.....I love the paint scheme and it looks as real as you can get...The mods are just beautiful......Excellent work.... -

I've only built two of these, lifetime, and both are long gone....This particular one was destroyed by my daughter's mother.....I've recently acquired a dumper, but I haven't been able to locate another Bison.....Anyway, here it is.....These pics were also taken with some really nice looking self adhesive "road bed" I found at Home Depot....

Just a beautiful piece of work, Sir....Just beautiful.... -
Yeah, Man....If you can open another window on the internet and go to photobucket......Get to your library and find the pic you want to post from the thumbnails and click on it.....Then, off to the right, you'll see a list of IMG's etc....Click on the last one "should be the IMG box", and briefly you'll see the word "copied" in the little window....Then go to your thread and reply or edit one of the posts.....When the dialog box appears, make sure the cursor is flashing.....Go to the "File Edit" tab and click paste....You'll then see a bunch of letters and numbers only the computer will understand, and then post it.....You can post more than one pic, but just remember to hit the enter key to move the cursor down to separate them.....I hope this helps.....It's how I do it....To me it's easier....
