Thanks to all. I was planning on using these on a 56 Eldorado build I'm working on because I really liked the overall shape of them plus the Firestone lettering and the size was spot on for the Eldo that year. But didn't pay as much attention to the remaining words showing they're stock car tires. I'll probably stay with them and I'll count on others being less observant like i was 😄

Thanks for the link. I'm hoping to find the kit these came in if possible.

Would anyone recognize this tire and where it might have come from? They were originally blackwalls but I painted them for wide whites. Thanks!

Do promos ever stop warping?

That's an option I guess. -
Do promos ever stop warping?

What I was thinking (and hoping) too.... -
I have a perfectly straight 57 promo buick that had a metal friction chassis, nice glass, and no interior. I disassembled it totally and now wonder if after all my upcoming work to build an updated look with new paint, chassis and interior, will it begin warping do you think? Or if it was going to warp would it have done it after 68 years? Anyone have experience doing something similar?

55 and/or 56 printed Buicks?
hedotwo replied to hedotwo's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
It's a Roadmaster. Not a bunch of differences between the two it seems. Has the trunk scripting and the side chrome slashes. Other than the interior being from the convertible it's a nice kit. The interior is much too wide for the body and it's really shallow as well. I've been modifying a 55 AMT Chevy interior tub to work better by removing the door panels from the floor/package tray and trying to redo the upholstery pattern to be closer to the coupe's. I can use the resin dash as it's correct and fits (after tweaking it to sit correctly). Thanks Chris -
55 and/or 56 printed Buicks?
hedotwo replied to hedotwo's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I have a resin 57 that I'm currently working on. I'm thinking it's a Modelhaus or All American but not positive. At least the stapled parts baggies appear to be Modelhaus. And the quality is Modelhaus-like. -
I think I found a 2010 search result that there was a resin 55 Roadmaster made by Star, but I couldn't find much else. Would anyone know if there are either the 1955 or 56 available as printed or resin? 54's seem to be common. Thanks!

And now they seem to have gone back from tubs to separate pieces in some cases in 1/25?
-
Roughly when did separate interior door panels/floors start to appear in kits instead of using tubs?
-
Congrats, beautiful build! Had to chuckle when I read that you added aftermarket headrests. I did the same with my 65 F-85 when I bought it from my girlfriend's brother in law in 69. What is the material you used for the seatbelts?

Thank you for all the nice comments!

Finished up this 59 Olds flattop yesterday after a long build. Happy it's done and in the display case. Lots of time spent on the stance as the stock johan kit is slammed too much for factory stock IMO. Factory 59 Olds Russet color is from Scalefinishes with a Tamiya TS-7 off white contrast. Did the wider whitewalls with Tamiya white primer then sprayed flat clear. Revell chrome spray and BMF for all the brightwork. Thanks

Beautiful build! I have a Modelhaus 58 Lincoln hardtop in my stash. Hope it'll turn out as nice as yours. Great color choice too!

Thanks Jeff! I totally agree that having these Cadillacs (and other printed full size C body GM's and Mopars) is a blessing. If I'm aware of some body issues before beginning the build I can try and correct if at all possible. In this case I didn't. The front would definitely be tougher to correct than extending the rear quarter flare forward. Oh well, I'm happy with the build. I currently have a few more Cad's in the queue too.

The boot came on a 65 Imperial cv I got years ago and I knew it wasn't right but the Imp got put away til recently and I was wondering where I might be able to use it if I could ID it. No plans for a convertible Merc right now, but I know I have a boot for it anyway 😂
-
The 63 Galaxie is close but it has kind of a hump across the width. Has ribs like the Merc though. Thanks

Bingo Mark... 63/64 Merc. Thanks as usual.

Yup

Anyone recognize this boot? Came with a 65 Imperial but pretty sure it's incorrect for the Imp. Thanks!
