I've always used Super Clean as my go to, but thought I'd see for myself about this stuff after hearing such good reviews. I'm looking forward to trying it on stubborn paints that Super Clean has some trouble with. I'll post if there is a difference.

1970 Cad coupe deVille wheel cover photo help
hedotwo replied to hedotwo's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This was the reason I asked the question. I saw these and for some reason they didn't seem "flat" enough compared to the 1:1 covers I saw online. But I've found that they are what Johan made for the kit, even though they don't seem very close to 1:1. Not sure about whether they made flatter ones for the promos but I'm guessing no. Thanks Chris! -
I'm thinking that's what I'll need to try.... thanks Peter.

Those 63-64 Riv taillights are always a problem when you rebuild ?

Would anyone know of a source for aftermarket (or kit) side view mirrors, most specifically rectangle, later model mirrors? I have a bunch of round and early '60s rectangles but lately I've been doing late 60's to mid 70's that use rectangles without those pointy parts that you see in early 60 rectangles ?. Thanks!

Heat Drying Chrome Paints?
hedotwo replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I’ve both let them dry on their own (for weeks or months) and in my Nesco dehydrator and I haven’t really seen any difference. I do know that making sure to do pre-fitting parts before chroming with spray chromes is really important. That and making sure your fingers are clean or wear tight fitting gloves. With the many pieces I’ve chromed with the Revell spray (and Molotow) I really haven’t had any issues as long as I can minimize handling during assembly. Once they’re done and in the display case I’m good. -
Shout out to 3D Scale Parts... I received my order of stand up Cadillac wreath hood ornaments and they're really nice. Outstanding detail and chrome for such small parts!

I used Americana Ocean Blue (craft acrylic) to paint my replica of my 1:1 Harbor Blue '57. Close enough for me. Really couldn't find anything in a rattle can close, but maybe I just didn't look hard enough. Craft acrylics aren't ideal but they do offer a ton of shades and they're easy to mix to get a shade you need.

I'm going to take the plunge. Thanks!

Thank you Bill!

Great build and especially love the color. Must have been one of the more popular colors as I remember them a lot like that.
