  1. Right you are Steve, there are later release sources for some of my needs. I actually found a set of late release 58 Impala wheel covers that resemble (or vice versa) the original promo covers. I really try to avoid those generic 58 tri-bar covers if I can. That's why I'm looking for another set of 58 Buick promo covers for my 58 kit convertible. I picked up a set for the Buick kit hardtop a while back. For the 59 Edsel ht and 58 cv that I finished I used the late release 58 Edsel for the covers. Now I could use two more sets of them for my annual 59 cv and 58 ht. Not about to buy the kits for the covers though ?. I have junker 62 and 63 impalas that I can source for the chassis... thanks for that tip. I need one for a 61 promo Impala 4 door that I'm almost finished bringing back from the dead (LOTS of broken body work was needed) that had a friction chassis that I want to replace. The other I need for the 77 resin Caprice 4 door I've been fighting with for months. Originally I had planned on using the frame from the 65 Riviera and had modified to fit the width of the Caprice, but.... final assembly showed the wheel base to be off just enough to make everything look wonky. When I looked for the GM x-frames like you suggested I found that the wheelbase on these are just a little longer than the Riv and look really good when put up against the body. Not sure how the 1:1 wheelbases are on all these but all I know is it seems good with this build now. Now I just need to narrow the chassis to fit the resin body. Thanks for the tip on the Ford fender ornaments and the 62 Bonneville 8 lugs. Thanks for your input Steve Rich
  2. They're in the mail this morning. Good luck with your build!
  3. PM sent. If you don't have anything from my long list of parts needs in the Trading Post, no worries. I'll just send them out to you. Rich
  4. If Kevin doesn't have them, I do. Just let me know if you need them.
  5. I agree it doesn't make sense Steve.
  6. I guess I thought the HT had those notches that accepted the stock hardtop, and that if you wanted you could install that custom half top. The instruction sheet for the HT calls out a "stock top" and says to install it. Not sure what that means. I have a convertible that has the notches and I thought maybe there was a separate hardtop that I could use. Learned something new I guess. Thanks Steve!
  7. Would anyone know if the AMT 60 and 61 Imperial HT roof has been re-popped? They look the same to my eye? Thanks!
  8. I have the front bumper from the 74 if you need it.
  9. I haven't posted my parts wants list in a while so I thought I'd post now and see if anyone thinks they can help out. I have kits and parts to trade or anything else that might work for you. I'll also list the restorable builder cars I'm looking for as well. All of the parts and builder cars I need are annuals, no later releases. I can help with wheel cover ID too, because I know it's not easy to dig through a box of misc covers. I much prefer restorable builders in most any condition, but they'd need to at least have the scripting and emblems intact. I'm adding pix of some of the kits I'd be willing to trade and I have annual parts for trade as well. I know it's a long list and thanks bunch for looking! 10. Love the Tamiya scriber. I have a number of different scribers and use each in different circumstances and the Tamiya is very controllable (except at corners) and leaves a clean cut.
  11. I have a number of the generic tri-bar wheel covers that AMT/SMP used for their GM's in '58 if you want a set. I won't be home until 4/22 to verify I have them but I'm pretty sure I do. Let me know if you'll need them. Take care, Rich
  12. Thanks Bill... I can see that the 59 roof wouldn't work. I'll just keep looking for the 61 top ?
  13. Was the 61 Imperial HT just the convertible kit with an add on hardtop roof piece and two pieces of glass? Or was it a dedicated HT? I can't seem to find the answer. I usually go to either Casey's site or the Drastic Plastic Fotki site but neither have the instruction sheet. P.S... if it is a separate top would the 59 Imperial top work as a replacement? Thanks!
  14. Another ID request ?. I'm thinking Chrysler?? Thanks!
  15. I need to replace the windshield on a 64 Imperial convertible. It looks as though a 65 Imperial might work as a donor, and possibly a 63 as well? Would anyone know? Thanks!
  16. Beautiful job David!
  17. Thanks Mike!
  18. Thanks Steve!
  19. Anyone? Edit.... added a 4th wheel. 61 Johan Dart?? Thanks!
  20. That sounds right about the 64 Lincoln, Mark. The first one is the one I was really stumped on. Thanks as usual!
