Ok. been a while since have been at the bench spilling the glue... but I'm back with time and have three projects going. This on started out as a Yat Ming 38 Ford pumper that I took the razor saw to. I had used all the parts from it for other projects and was left with a white over red die cast shell. I had the revell 50 Ford f-1 sitting in the box waiting for a project and though ... would it fit... yes it does. all I did was open up the wheel wells a little. So this build starts with a frame and only the rear fenders of the Yat ming Die cast and a plastic 50 Ford cab. the rest is scratch. I decided to make this a shop built City service truck with a shorter wheelbase than most. it will have a deluge gun for the big fires and maybe a 500 GPM pump. A city service ladder truck was a Fire truck that carried all the same ground ladders as a aerial truck but did not have an aerial device (the big mechanical 65 to 100 ft ladder) anyway on to the eye candy. the start you can see the other die cast 38 ford in the back. it is like the one i cut up for this project. Hosted on Fotki The mock up. you can see the wheel well needs cut and I used a ladder bed from another build to get an idea of what to make... Hosted on Fotki The new ladder bed complete (sorry I forgot more in progress shots.) Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki The wheel well is opened up and everything is primed. now time for bondo and sanding... you can see the big flood lights that will be added to her latter. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I'm really liking all this rear overhand of the ladders...... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

Great work! she looks ready to fight on forever! -
My favorite fire engine at work is a 1991 Stuphen with a Detriot 6v92... It runs the best out of all our Pumpers and the ladder with the Series 90 Detroits. i can hear the sound of that engine now as I type. http://www.google.com/imgres?q=forty+fort+fire&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1366&bih=712&tbm=isch&tbnid=MrQ4bXhbInRR9M:&imgrefurl=http://www.northeastpafire.com/Luzerne-County/Forty-Fort-Borough/6292875_mdBfXQ/396672447_oRq74&docid=7RuqJCDv2ye99M&itg=1&imgurl=http://www.northeastpafire.com/Luzerne-County/Forty-Fort-Borough/DSCF0018/396672447_oRq74-L.jpg&w=800&h=600&ei=Q8drT_DQCObg0QHX1Ii6Bg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=260&sig=103055683790979409687&page=1&tbnh=156&tbnw=214&start=0&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:14,s:0&tx=135&ty=98

Frontier Resin Design
chrismooney replied to c.l.nye's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
As for Frontier as said by someone else you have to take in account the cars he is casting and if you want to build it... they need clean up and minor reworking but turn out great... This was the 1938 Cadillac Hearse body made to fit on the Die cast Yatming Presidential limo... it took some work but it was fun!!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki -

Some progress. Paint is done, Pump Pannel is finished. the dog is helping load the hose... Some of the Fire Equipment I took from a Junk YatMing Diecast 38 Ford pumper. I just have to add decals and Emergency lights.

This started out as a Ertl Die cast 1957 Chevy oil tanker. I made a rescue out of one and this one will be a Pumper. I started with making the cab an open cab and using a AMT ALF pumper body. Paint is Krylon hunter green. the pumper body was cut short at the pump panel and a new pump area was made.
