SOP my rear. LOL..... They have no turnout gear on..... (stupid stupid stupid!) no Air mask....... (Very Stupid!) Water will work fine on all car fires but you have to have the protective clothing on to fight it and know how to apply it. Most likely in this cast the ignition was still on and power to the electric fuel pump was sending raw fuel into the engine compartment. They need to be closer to the car in order to apply the water correctly and having the Turnout gear would enable them to do that... I'm just tankful they didn't get seriously burned or injured by there lack of judgment.
I love these cars!!! you did one heck of a job! Where's the Oldsmobile Cutlass and the Monti carlo to match??? Oh yea and and Camino just to mix it up! Great paint BTW
Here is an old Mack Fire truck turned onto a Hauler... The cab was a Mack Factory 4 door and origionaly had a pump and pannel between the fron and rear doors.. not to hijack but some food for thought on Old frie truck kits built to moder dat car haulers. This was in Harrisburg 2010 at a fire muster.

It might be the Squad body was moved from year to year Dodge to advertise the new body style... that would explain why 3 different trucks were used but only one complete truck remains.
Great job on making a classic ambulance... It looks like the Polar lights kit which unfortunately had the "tinted" rear windows and the no step bumper.... Your paint looks great do you plan on making new rear windows???
I keep searching for Squad 8 on line -----Nothing!! this is a great Build.. i like all the after marked parts sourced out for it. and at a time when there was little after marked out there... great job...
Having faught many car fires I can tell you anything goes..... LOL the can start burning from the engine, the interior, or they can also start anywere there is electrical wires...
I love the Krylon paint. Its all i use... Granted the colors are limited to about 20 or so But building what i build (fire trucks and ambulances) you don't need to many differed colors. Like any paint you use there is a learning curve..... be it a airbrush or testors paint cans.... Krylon Primer is the best i have ever used for resin models... here are a few more examples of Some Krylon paint jobs
Thanks for the comment.. it has two paint flaws (fish Eyes) that will be covered up with decals..... I use the same theory u do.. I build for fun and what I like. if its not 100% accurate I don't care and still make it look nice... When you resin come please post Photos of it.... so the masses can "Pass Judgment" LOL
